 Wolves Wolves are wild dogs that live in packs. They hunt for their food and are very fast runners. Description Wolves have very thick fur because they live in quite cold places. They hunt for their food and have an incredible sense of smell. They can smell their prey from a long way away. They can also run as fast as a car. Food Wolves hunt squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, grouse, racoons, beavers, greylag goose, marmots, deer and moose. Food is difficult to find so wolves don’t eat every day. Habitat Wolves live in forest and mountains in packs of about 7. They have their own territory in which they find their food in. It could be as large as 1300 square kilometres or as small as 40 square kilometres. Behaviour The female wolf will breed about 5 pups at a time. They are born in a small, warm den, underground. The pups like pretending to hunt with their siblings. Conclusion Wolves are amazing creatures and did you know that the red wolf is endangered? There are only about 300 in the world!
