Last week our inquiry question was"In the old days did the children learn what we learn now?"
We used the books that Mrs King found and we fouind out that the children learned to read and write and do math. But the interesting thing that we found out was that boys also learned how to do wood work and girls learned how to cook. We thought it would be fun to learn this way so the girls learned how to make butter by shaking cream in a jar for a long time. Eventually it turned into butter! Look at the photo's of the girls and the video to see what went on!

Wow what a lot of changes there has been since our grandparents went to school!
We have been comparing what is still the same and what is different.
We looked at some old photo's of a school and classroom. We inferred what and why some of the things were, like "Why do we think there are more girls than boys in the classroom?" and "Why are there not many tables in the classroom?".
Mrs King brought an old school desk to school and we each had a turn at sitting in it and doing our handwriting with chalk on a blackboard. Have a look at our work!

This term our Inquiry is
Am i a Guardian of the Environment?
Here is Jack Johnson with our new favourite song The 3 R's.
As we learn this song we will also be asking and answering our own questions about the 3 R's and we will present our findings later on in the term.

Today i went home with KAte. First we went to soccer practise and Kate got hurt but she scored 2 goals. Kate lives at Lake Rotoma, about 40kms South East of Rotorua. On the way to lake Rotoma, we passed Lake Rotoiti and lake Rotoehu. They were very pretty. When we got to Kate's, i helped her with her homework. We woke up at 7 o'clock at KAte's house to get ready for school.

Today i went home with Lillian. After school we had a snack and we played with Connor's army toys. That was fun. Later on Lilly and her mum went to visit their friend who had a little baby boy, he was so cute. I stayed inside while Kiara and Lilly went to play on the trampoline. After a little play we went home and had a nice dinner. We watched a movie called Milo and Otis. I liked it alot. I slept on Lily's bed.

On Friday we went to Auckland. NewZealands largest city. On Saturday we went up on the sky tower, the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere. We went in the elavator right up to the top platform( about 200 metres high). It was very high and the view was awesome. Then we went down to the viaduct basin and saw Team New Zealand's yacht in the water. On Sunday we drove all the way back to Rotorua. On Monday it was Queen's Brthday weekend so we went up to Riley's neighbours house to feed their alpaca's. That was alot of fun. Riley and her three sisters, Madison, Courtney and Sasha loved having me to stay with them and took very good care of me.
