Our classroom is following the exciting events of the 2010 Iditarod Sled Dog Race! This race commemorates the great serum run in the early 1900's, in which teams of mushers and dogs raced to bring the serum to remote villagers who were suffering from Diptheria.
Each student in my class has chosen a musher to follow through this years race. They have done mini research on that musher and will be posting a short biography on their classblogmeister page. We are anxiously waiting for the race results daily and are always surprised to find a new leader each day, so far!
At this point, most mushers have reached the halfway checkpoint at Cripple. Some mushers have scratched from the race for many different reasons. We should know the results by early next week! Hopefully, one of our mushers will prove to be a winner! For more information, go to www.iditarod.com
