I work with teachers and students in grades 4 to 7. Our focus is on UDL (Universal Designs for Learning) Principles. We try to provide multiple means of representation, expression and engagement for our students. We are located in Northern BC in Canada. My personal goal is to infuse technology into all curricular areas.
Although I no longer have current students linked directly to this page, I still plan on posting assignments from the other classes (and teachers) I work collaboratively with.
Check back often.

We are breaking into groups of 2 or 3 to study the 2010 Olympics. Each group will choose 1 sport to study. You will be producing a voicethread with your partner(s).
Some of the things to include will be:
an introductory slide
a description of the sport
the history of the sport
the equipment needed
the rules of the sport
who are the legends of the sport? Are any Canadian?
any special terms used in the sport
a concluding slide
I have books in the library for some of the sports (including curling, hockey, snowboarding, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, speed skating, figure skating, alpine skiing).
Your final product will include appropriate images for each slide and each group member contributing his/her voice to the production. We will be posting the finished voicethreads on our page on the 2010 collaborative wiki.
Today you will pick your partner(s), your sport and begin taking notes for your voicethread script.

In January we, along with classes from around the world, will be studying the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler.
Click the link on the side of the page to learn about some of the projects we will be doing. We have a blank page on the 2010 wiki and will be able to add information to our own page.
What information should we put on it? How do we tell the other schools where we are from and what Prince George is like. Looking forward to hearing what you can come up with.

We are participating in a gift card exchange. We will be creating our own gift cards and mailing them to classrooms marked on the map. We will also be receiving cards from each classroom as well!
Let's get into the holiday spirit and design some beautiful cards!
