Our Amazing Camp Experience
On Monday and Tuesday this week, our class and Room 11 went to Tui Ridge Park for two days of action and adventure. The two days were filled with all sorts of activities that challenge children to step out of their comfort zone and try something new.
We've got loads of photos and today while the camp is still very fresh in our minds, we've written a recount with an emphasis on three activities or events that were challenging, enjoyable or just stood out.
Here's Ruby's recount...
Guess what happened on marvellous Monday and terrific Tuesday? It was incredible camp! I did heaps of fun games. I went with kids, parents, teachers and Room 11 also came. Camp was at the amazing Tui Ridge Park.
My favourite thing to do was the flying fox. I felt like a bird as I whizzed across the sky. We had to take turns and I got three. It was the second thing that we did. The flying fox was an amazing experience for me.
I also liked the BMX. I liked it because my fantastic Dad, Jeff, was in charge of it. He gave all the groups wine gums. I got two. I felt like a kangaroo as I flew over the jumps. That was the first thing we did.
I was extremely afraid when I did abseiling. You had to lean back as if you were in bed, in thin air! Also you had to stand on a flat rock and it just went down. It was so scary, my dad took pictures. It was also so scary that I can't describe it anymore.
I'm a year four so there will be other camps. I'll miss this camp with all the survival skills and exercise.
At camp I faced heaps of fears, but I also had heaps of fun. So while I can remember it, I'd like to say I was pretty lucky to go!
Over a thousand photos were taken during our camp! Here's a selection of some of them...
