We have been busy learning all about measurement in Math. Today we were comparing objects using mass. The grade ones were instructed to find objects lighter than the textbook, heavier than the textbook and about the same as the textbook. They found some interesting objects!

The grade ones have been learning the difference between a "need" and a "want". For sharing (show and tell) they were instructed to bring a "need". This particular student brought a balloon because we need the air which is inside the balloon--very creative!

The grade ones continue to learn more about measurement. Today they got to measure the distance of three race-cars using a ramp, tape and yarn. Straight from the words of a student: "Today math was actually fun!".

The other day the grade 1's had to use their imaginations a bit after reading "If I Built a Car" by Chris Van Dusen. They were to do some creative writing and imagine what they would build if they could build any type of vehicle. Check out their blogs to see just what they would do...
