People Who Are Dying Of Hunger
Dear children,
Hundreds and thousands of children the same age as you and I die of hunger every day.
Why do they have to suffer and we get to live?
Today our world population is 6.7 billion and out of that 1.02 billion people are hungry. That's 15 percent of the population. So dear friends, lets join our effort of making a difference.
For the price of one missile, a school full of hungry children could eat lunch every day for 5 years. The biggest problem is that, the countries that have the most people suffering from hunger are also the poorest. As you know hunger is the worst form of poverty, when people cannot even afford their own basic needs, food.
About 183 million children weight less than they should for their age. So that will take those children to death. Why is that? Every day 1 child every 5 seconds die of hunger and diseases caused by hunger. Most of the children suffering from hunger have to experience the effects like, malnutrition, lack of vitamins. These problems affect their growth, makes them easily susceptible to catch diseases.
Instead of spending millions of dollars on building space ships and explore the solar system we can offer the money instead to these children who are suffering of famine.
At least 1$ every month will help save those starving people. It will be great if every one of us donates 1$ to those people, which is $12/year which is $120 for a family of 10. We will save a lot of things and save their lives. Imagine what we spend every day?? I can give 1$ to save a child, can you?
Hundreds and thousands of children the same age as you and I die of hunger every day.
Why do they have to suffer and we get to live?
Yours,
Jana

My Blood Journey

Have you ever thought of something that goes around and around without getting dizzy?
Well, I know about it, it’s called a circulatory/transport system.
First, deoxygenated blood travels through two veins called inferior vena cava and superior vena cava. The inferior vena cave transports blood from the lower part of the body. The superior vena cava transports blood from the upper part of the body. The deoxygenated blood then goes to the right atrium. When the deoxygenated blood gathers together in the right atrium, a valve called tricuspid valve opens permitting blood to flow to the right ventricle. Then it pumps this blood to an artery called pulmonary artery. This artery is the only artery that carries deoxygenated blood. It transports the blood to the lungs in order to get rid of carbon dioxide (co2). When we exhale it. Oxygen enters the heart when we inhale. From the lungs oxygenated blood is carried by a vein called pulmonary vein. It is the only vein that carries oxygenated blood. It transports the blood to the left atrium. When the oxygenated blood gathers together and another valve called mitral valve opens permitting the blood to the left ventricle. The mitral valve is always on the left side of the heart. The tricuspid valve is always on the right side of the heart. And then the aorta the biggest and longest artery carries the oxygenated blood to the rest of the body parts, to feed our cells who are waiting to be fed.
This cycle goes on and on in a fast motion.

“Aw! Aw! Mom my chest is hurting me when I breathe! Can you call the doctor to check on me?” Okay Jana I will call the doctor, but you don’t have any fever or anything? I Know but my chest is really hurting me. My mom called the doctor and told her what was going on with me. The doctor said she will be here right away.
Mom=http:// I screamed a stomach ache is happening now. Jana calm down the doctor will be here right away. Oh my gosh!! You are burning up (fever) mom said. The doorbell rang my mom ran to the door and hoping it was the doctor. It was her (the doctor :-) I walked up to the doctor and told her that when I breathe my chest hurts so badly. She told me to breathe in and out; it’s similar of having short breathes. Ah Ha! The doctor said. There is something called pneumonia it’s when all the bacteria in your body gathers up together and it gets stuck in somewhere in your body. This pneumonia thing happened to me and well it got stuck in my chest, the place where I breathe. (Lungs sort of).
So….. What are we supposed to do know? Mom asked. You are supposed to take her to the hospital and well, she is going to sleep there for about a week maybe, the doctor said. Do I have to do an operation? I asked, in a worried voice. No honey, they will just inject you with the right medication till you feel better. The doctor said. I went to get dressed, and my mom took me to the hospital called CMC. Mom!! I said my chest is still hurting me. Its okay Jana relax you are going to do an x-ray.
One of the doctors took me to the x-ray room. Mom!! I am so cold. 2 minutes and you will be done Jana. Oh my gosh my daughter is pale yellow. My mom said to herself.
When the x-ray was done they took me up to a room and they injected me with the right medication. Finally I said what a day? Mom I said who is going to stay with me in the hospital tonight? Your aunt will be coming soon and most probably she will be staying with you at the night. Why can’t you stay with me? Well, because I have to take care of your younger siblings and send them off to school, but I promise you Jana when the kids go to school I will come and visit you until you fall asleep. After a few minutes later I fell asleep, I was still in pain, the room was quite. Suddenly the door knocked. Oh!! Not again I said. I don’t want to take my medicine. When I looked at the door I realized I was not going to take my medicine it was just my brother coming to visit me. Ali!! I screamed I miss you so much!! I am really glad to see you! How are you feeling? I am feeling better. Guess what? I am leaving the hospital tomorrow. Yeah well that’s better I can actually have fun with my little sister not home alone. It was getting late, Ali went back home, and I went to sleep.
The next day the doctors woke me up so I could take out the injection out of my hand. I asked the doctor why you are taking out the injection from my hand. Well, today you are leaving the hospital. I jumped out of my bed in an exciting way and said yes! Finally! No more medicine, no more sleeping in this annoying bed.
When I went back home I jumped into my bed and had a long nap.

If I Turned Into An Animal

If I turned into an animal for a single day, I would choose to be a dog. I chose this animal because first of all I love dogs and I would love to see how the dogs enjoy their adventures. Secondly I would go to the park and play fetch, run around the grass, and most probably I would play with a ball. I am not sure of the way the people treat me; it depends on how the people are to animals and the world. If they are good citizens, then of course they would treat everything in a good way. If the person is mean, bullies everyone, and does not care about the world then definitely they would not treat anyone or anything in the right way. If I am home alone, I would feel left out. If my owner takes me everywhere he/she goes I would feel happy, excited, and amazed.

I would not change my name in any way, I would keep it the way it is Jana. Well while I was talking with my mom, I asked her of what was she going to call me before she got the name Jana. she told me she was going to call me Julia. My mom was not really sure of the name, she thought it won’t sound well. The name julia for me burned me in fire, because if my name was Julia I think I would have a misriable life. I thought that I would not be having any friends or my cousins would make fun of my name. it does not mean that the name Julia does not sound well to some people. It does not mean they are misribale. I actully like the name but it does not sound well on me. At the end my mom found another name to call me and that name was Jana. This name made my life a star.

A Friend

A Friend
A friend is not someone to use, a friend is not someone to treat like a dog, a friend is not someone to fight with all the time.
A friend means that you should always honest to them, and they should be honest to you too. They should be trustworthy, a good citizen, and especially a person that cares about you and not betray you. Well the problem is that if a friend disagrees with you then eventually you might get into a fight or maybe not be friends anymore. I have to say that once I used to have this best friend that is a girl; we have been together 3 years in the same class, but one day in fourth grade they seperated us in different classes, so with time we haven’t been talking to each other anymore. She made new friends and maybe forgot about me.

“Jana!” screamed my little sister Amanda; “Come swim with us in the pool!” she added “I’ll come in a second!” I replied. I spent the summer doing many things, so many activities, so many events, and so much FUN!My summer mostly took place in the mountains. I did many things there! Swimming, skateboarding, biking, rollerblading, playing football, taking care of my dog, and much, much more! Swimming was mostly all I did this summer! Early in the morning I would always go swimming, something I noticed when I swam in the morning was that I would always see birds flying around the pool, and in the evening I would also swim, as well as the birds , bats also flying around, the birds were beautiful but the bats were very frightening!

Stump, squish, stump, squish there I go getting squished into dog poo or maybe a puddle. “Give me a break!!!” kids playing in mud, in puddles, in dog poo, and also stumping their feet all around the place. Bumps on my head, getting headaches all night. “Guys!!! Take it easy on me!!!!You don’t know what it’s like to get stumped all day. You don’t know the feeling of getting all soaked up by water, when it starts raining, and especially when they use me as a tool to kill cockroaches. I can’t wait until everyone gets to sleep, I get put in the closet and I can have some peaceful time with my other friends in the closet. The worst is that when I am all torn, ripped and scratched I would be thrown in the bin. “Please, clean me!! Fix me!!! I don’t want to get thrown in all of those nasty things!!” “let me enjoy my time with my friends and especially beauty(the high heel)!” and there I go in the bin. In a few years later I go up to heaven meeting all of the stars.
