My Letter To The UN.

My first wish is for pollution to stop because it is killing our earth and if it does, we won't have anywhere to live. Animals are getting extinct from it, and what was our beautiful nature, is just pretty much garbage now. Why do we even throw garbage on the ground? To be cool? Because we don't want to walk to a garbage can, 5 steps away? What we are doing to our earth, effects us too, why can't people see that?
My second wish is for starvation to stop. People all over the world are dying from it. Everyone deserves food. It makes me really sad to see people starve. We have plenty of food, but people in places like Africa or India don't have that. We shouldn't take our food for granted, instead we should give some away to people that don't have any.
My third wish is for war to stop. People risk their lives just for us, but if we just made peace and didn't fight, we wouldn't need that. Millions of people die in the war, but that wouldn't happen if we just got along.
My fourth wish is for animals to stop getting extinct, they are beautiful creatures and they should be able to live without all that bad stuff happening to them. Animals aren't any different from us, so why should they be treated differently?
My fifth wish is for nature to stay because nature is so beautiful and without the trees giving off oxygen, we wouldn't be able to breathe and would die. There used to be so many beautiful places to see, but now, there are only a few.
My sixth wish is that we could make peace. I think that it is stupid to fight. Why not just get along? That way, everyone is happier. We fight, because we can't admit we are wrong, so instead of just forgiving and forgetting, we fight. A lot of war is caused by racism. But why do we base people on looks? Black people aren't any different from white people and white people aren't any different from black people. Fighting and racism are wrong and stupid.
My seventh wish is that everyone could get educated. You need almost every subject in everyday life. For example, without math we wouldn't be able to count. How would we know when to stop, when we see a stop sign if we didn't know how to read? We need education, but a lot of people don't have that.
Our world has changed a lot over the years, but it's our choice to make the world a better place for everyone. It all begins with you!

My class and I watched the movie Express and I thought it was a great movie. But there were 4 things that really stood out to me. The first one was when the black people weren't allowed in the hotel, I felt really bad for them and I thought that was really racist. I don't think people should get kicked out just because of their skin color. I will make sure I will always include people no matter what they look like. Second, was when they played in the Cotton Bowl and had a big fight on the field. I will never fight someone just because they have a different skin color. Third, was when he was always so nice to the ref, even if he was mad. I think that even if your mad, you shouldn't fight, I will try not to either. Fourth, was when the team didn't go to the Country Club where there were no colors allowed. That one really stood out to me, I was really happy when they said they didn't want to go there, because I think it's really racist and wrong. I will always include everyone no matter what.

I think my biggest success so far is when I got my first job as a Gymnastics CIT (Coach In Training). I learned that it takes a lot of responsibility and time to be a CIT. My sister is also a gymnastics coach and she helped me a lot as to what to do and how to be a good coach, she really helped me.

1. I think the main message of his "I have a dream speech" is that we should stop racism and see people as they are on the inside.
2. I think his speech made a big difference around the world because I think a lot of people were already against racism but after his speech even more people were against it.

After viewing the President's speech, I really agreed with him, when he said "Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin again the remaking of America." It really stood out to me because, I don't think we should just sit there and feel sorry for ourselves and others, but we should start over and make the world a better place. I also agree when he said "The time has come to set aside childish things". I think that we do need to set aside childish things and be more mature about things like racism and preventing it. I definitely agree that we all have duties to build a united world, I think that we should all help make the country better and I think we should stop racism and care about, other peoples problems. To assist in building hope and unity of our generations to come. We can not judge people on how they look, what race they are or by what religion they are, but rather by their character. I think it is also really important to be nice to everybody and to think about them before ourselves.

Hi, today I am going to tell you about Shenae Grimes and her new movie 90210. The article headline is Toronto actress settles into star life. The article takes place in West Hollywood, California. This article is about the movie 90210 and the main character Shenae Grimes who plays Annie. Shenae has also been in the movie Picture This and shows such as Degrassi: The Next Generation and Naturally Sadie. Hi my name is Miley and today I am going to tell you about a motorcyclist that got struck by a truck. This article headline is called Motorcyclist struck truck. This article is about a 29-year old man, who was taken to the hospital with serious injury to his leg after he was struck by a truck while riding his motorcycle on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. The truck driver is okay and has no injury. This article takes place on Fleet street and Victoria Avenue North Service Road. I choose this article because I thought that it would be sad and interesting to read about this motorcycle accident. I think that people should be more careful on the roads and I hope that the man is okay.

Hey everyone, today I am going to tell you about my trip to Treaty 4. The bus ride there was long but fun. First I sat with Monkees! but then she went and sat with PATD, so I sat with HannahM5. Then Baker wanted to sit with me so I sat with her instead, but we were still behind HannahM5, so we could still talk to her. Mrs, Markwart took a lot of pictures on the way there and back. We all played I Spy, so we didn't get bored, that was fun.
When we got there, we went to stations that were in Tipi's. My favorite station was the bubble blowing one. We had a contest to see who could blow the biggest bubble, but before we could blow any bubbles, we had to say one thing that we could do to change the world. I said that I would include everyone. When that contest was over we had another contest to see who could blow the most bubbles, I won neither, but that's okay.
Then we had lunch, while we were eating, a guy came out and he did a hoop dance, it was really cool. Then they told everyone to go in the middle to do a round dance. I would have went but Baker had a sore ankle, so I sat with her instead.
Next we went into another Tipi and a person named Star, told us her life story, it was really sad. Then she sang a song that she wrote herself and it was amazing!! Her voice is so beautiful. She said she was nominated for song writer of the year, and I can see why. Mrs. Markwart took lots of pictures of her too. After she was done, people went up to get her autograph, but I was too late because right when I got up to the front of the line, we had to go. I really had fun at Treaty 4 and I hope to go again soon.

Hi my article is about a women who gets abducted at a 7 Eleven store and forced to drive 2,500 kilometers south before making an escape from her mysterious captor. Monica Gagnon who is a mother of two was reported missing by her husband early Sunday morning. The police have still not found the abductor yet but hopefully will soon. They did find Monica and she is okay. Monica was forced to drive across the American border and then was abducted in North Dakota by a man who was waiting for her arrival. Apparently they made her withdraw all her money before they left. This article takes place in Winnipeg starting at 12:30 a.m. on Monday. I choose this article because I thought it was really interesting and I was worried about the person who got abducted. I also choose it because my friend (HannahM5) is going to Winnipeg soon where the article took place. My opinion on this article is that it is really interesting and I thought it was kinda scary that the abductors are still not found.

Hey everyone! Warning: If you don't like country music stop reading this right now! today I'm going to tell you about the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Now I'm going to tell you about some of the awards. Kenny Chesney won entertainer of the year and Taylor Swift, my favorite country singer won her first award and she is only 18 years old! Carrie Underwood, also one of my favorites, won top female vocalist for the second year in a row. Garth Brooks won best selling solo artist of all time. This article takes place on Sunday, 2008 at the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. I choose this article because I really like country music and I like all of the people who one the awards. Hi! I think this turning off the lights thing, is a great idea! It is going great, we turn off our lights all time, except when we really need them on, but sometimes we just turn two lights on instead of three. I think we really made a change to the environment and if everyone did this at least once a week, our planet would be so much healthier.

1. What memories are you reminded of from the pictures I have posted?
I am reminded of nature and hot spring days. The sound of chirping and animals too. Also, it brings back some memories of my childhood, when I went to the park and played in the sand and climbed trees.
2. What things are you looking forward to now that Spring is here.
I am looking forward to go swimming, jumping on my trampoline, going to the park or just running around and playing some games! I am also really looking forward to going to the beach with some friends. All of these things are really fun!
3. What do you see, hear and smell during the months of Spring?
I see nature and kids running all around me. I hear animals and people talking and laughing, and I smell the fresh air, and trees all around.
4. What activities do you engage in during the months of Spring?
I do lots of activites in the spring, I most of all like to go to gymnastics, play outside, go to the park and jump on my trampoline. Activites in the spring are really fun!

The air is fresh and breezy, it smells like trees all around me. The sound of nature and people appear. I feel a cool breeze and it's very relaxing. We all love this place, because it's so calming. I have been to lots of places and only one was as beautiful. The place I'm thinking of is Kennosee Camp. Three months from now, it will be very humid, it will be summertime. Six months from now, it will be really breezy, the snow will fall and the animals will hibernate. Wascana Lake and Regina Beach are also like this wonderful place.

Hey this is Miley and I'm going to tell you why I thought the math digital stories was a good way to do math. I think it really helped me understand better about fractions. I also thought it was a fun way to do math, instead of just trying to figure it out on paper. Another reason I thought this was a great way to do math is because I could help other people in my group understand.

Hi, I participated in Earth Hour because I think it is important because it saves energy and the Earth. It helps prevent light pollution. I think everyone should participate in Earth Hour because everyone has their lights on too much so I think it is good to have an hour of no lighting. My family turned off all the lights but we did not do anything special.

Hey everyone! My article is about a 15 year old that caused a serious car crash and will spend six months in custody followed by a year of probation. The girl will also have to write letters of apology to the other people involved in the crash, and she cannot drive for 2 years. Her and her friends stopped at the Dewdney Avenue Liquor Store, and the driver and one of the passengers went inside the Liquor store. The girl was accused that she had been sitting in the passenger seat, but slid into the driver's seat when she saw a police car and she hit the gas. The girl, who had never driven before, sped onto Dewdney Avenue. She had been going 100 kilometetres per hour when she hit a car. The car she hit, was driven by a police officer that was off-duty, and the impact pushed his car into an SUV with two adults, a 10 year old and a baby inside the car. The officer received a lot of serious injury such as, dislocated ribs, whiplash and a gash on his head. The woman in the SUV was also injured, but the others were unharmed. The girl’s blood alcohol level was slightly above legal limit. This article takes place in Regina. I chose this article because I think it was very interesting and I think people should read this so they know what could happen if you speed or do something wrong. I think people should really think before they do something because you never know what could happen. Thank you!

Hey, this is Miley, and I'm going to tell you about a two-vehicle car crash. It sent five people to the hospital, because of icy road conditions, on Highway 6, south of Regina, on Monday afternoon. The crash occurred shortly before 2pm. When a pick-up truck lost control on icy roads, it resulted in a near head-on collision with a southbound minivan that swerved in an attempt to avoid the crash. A woman and her three kids in a minivan were all ok, except for a 10-year-old boy, who was in the hospital for serious injury. The driver who drove the pick-up truck also went to the hospital for serious injury as well, but even though his injuries were very serious but he still lived. I chose this article because one of the people in the crash is my mom’s cousin, and I felt bad because of the injuries. My personal connection to this article is my mom is related to the woman driving the minivan, so I thought it would be a good article to pick.

1. Why do you feel it is important to fundraise for Telemiracle?
I think it is important because I think people should help kids that are sick, and if you were one of those people I would want to help you.
2. What impact do you think it has on the individuals that are on the receiving end of Telemiracle?
I think they feel happy because people helped them, when they needed it.

School *sigh* where do I begin! Well, I usually forget my homework and I usually don't study much, so my New Years Resolution is to not forget my homework and to study more. I hope that it will help. One time I forgot my spelling and vocab at school, so on that test I got 11 out of 20! Usually I am a good speller, I was one of the best spellers in my class. But I usually forget about spellng. I also really need to study more ecspecially in French, last year I got 65%, I never forget that mark! But last test I improved but it still wasn't above 85 so I need to study more. I will study in my free time everyday if I have a test, and I hope that if I study and don't forget my homework, I will have a great report card, and my mom will reward me.

Hey everyone! My New Years Resolution is to be nicer to my family, because I usually fight with them, and I don't do what they ask me to do. I don't want to be mean to my family, because I get in trouble, and I don't get to hang out with my friends, I also feel really bad after I am mean to them. My sister dosen't even let me in her room anymore, because she dosen't trust me, I really wish she trusted me! My mom and dad always get mad if I don't listen or don't do what they say. I am going to start listening to my family and do what they tell me to do. I will do this everyday so I don't get in trouble. I hope that if I am nicer, my sister will let me in her room, and I wont get in trouble. I also hope my parents won't get mad at me when I change.
