God helps you when you're in a problem,
God loves you no matter what,
God is beside you,
in your heart.
When you're scared God is there to protect you,
when you're sad just speak to God and he will hear you.
People make mistakes, that's because nobody is perfect.
God loves you, remember that every where you go!

There it is,
the light it's calling me.
A path was in front of me leading me to my future,
to the place I should be.
6th grade!
I walked in all I saw was camera lights flashing in front of me,
I heard claps and screams all over the place.
Suddenly I see myself shaking hands with a teacher that was handing me my diploma.
This year ended but the next one is on its way!

Walking through the city,
No sound,
No whisper,
Not even a peep.
All I could hear was the wind whistling,
The leaves whispering restlessly.
A voice coming from miles away,
The sun faded and the moon smiled,
Suddenly I was in a different place.
Windows broken,
Glass shattered on the floor,
Doors making creaking sounds!
Black charcol skies,
Burned black grass,
Demolished buildings,
A half occupied country.
Tears rolling down every kid's cheek
Wiping their dirty face
Something happened!
Smiles are wiped away, replaced by frowns
Happiness replaced by sadness
Why isn't it peaceful?
Where birds and butterflies fly freely in the sky
and flowers bloom brightly.
Where grass is green and the sky is crystal clear.
Where people laugh and rarely cry,
Where we have a better and peaceful life.

You Are Not Beside Me

The sky is above me,
the ground is below me,
people are around me,
But you are not beside me.
The night sky covered the morning,
and there is still no sign of you.
stars shined,
the moon smiled,
I can't find you!
where did you go?
feeling a hand on my shoulder,
so warm, sweet and tender.
A voice deep and humble calling my name,
It was you,
Telling me you passed away,
a lonely heart,
a melting soul dripping everywhere I go.
Even if your sitting with the stars,
with the angels near god,
I will still know you are always next to me,
Beside me!

Analyze a Character

If I would have to put one family member into a book I am writing, I would directly put my brother.
A very sweet, charitable person.
He judges people from the inside and not from the out. He is funny, handsome and daring.
I chose my brother because he is a very talented person, in acting, singing and art. I think he would be a good character in a funny but dramatic story.
My brother would play the part of a teen-age boy that is struggling to succeed at being a singer.

After having dinner with my family, my sister and I went to Bliss Street to get an ice cream sundae. On the way going to the shop, we saw a shriveled old man sleeping on the side of the road. I felt how he felt, sleeping on streets, cold, wishing for a home that I have. So I put some money next to him. After we got our sundaes, I felt very happy because I had done a good deed and one of the best. A smile was on my face and I think was the man's face, when he saw the money.
When I reached home, I thanked God for giving me a home and thanked my parents for all the hard work they did just for me to have what I need. I had done a good deed but also learned something. Don't complain! Think of others! Feel for others!

|
The most important qualities of being a president of a country, are, he or she has to make wise decisions, be a hard worker, always doing the best for his or her country. He or she has to have political skills; he or she has to have a strong personality. A great president must be truthful to his or her people and help protect them. A president must keep his or her word, which means all the things he or she promises they must do. He or she should be responsible; he or she has to believe in his or her self. He or she has to keep his or her promises by not changing them from good to bad. A president has to be brave to take any risk that can change his or her country into a better peaceful place. A president shouldn’t be a coward but he or she shouldn’t be scared of death.

In the year 2006,
I was in a completely different place,
All I saw was a bloody mess.
Kids were dying here,
and moms crying there.
I was reminiscing back, back on the old days to when we were happy little kids.
Kids were bleeding here,
and moms where shouting there.
One after the other leaving this world.
Peace turned into war,
Tears of joy turned into tears of sadness,
Skies turned into black charcoal,
Seas filled with bombs and corpses.
Every kid slept with tears and woke up with worry,
Parents loosing kids,
Kids loosing parents,
Peace was the word that was echoing in the air,
Stop the wars and the killing was echoing too,
Hard days,
Sad days,
Dark nights,
Cold nights,
Innocent kids,
Suffering parents,
Passing away every day.

Behind the Walls of High School ( realsitic fiction)

Behind the walls of the American School in Lebanon, a boy called Philip was walking past the cafeteria with his friends. He stopped at a table that had two girls, Gloria and Kate. Philip made up a joke and told it to the girls. Kate laughed but Gloria took it in a negative way. Gloria is a girl that never liked to solve problems in peace, so she called her sister’s boyfriend.
Philip went to his locker to get his books for his math class when he heard screaming girls. Philip ran to see what was happening, he saw a boy running and shouting, "Philip! Philip! Come out and face me."
Philip said, “I am Philip. What do you want?” with a puzzled face. So the boy pushed Philip on the locker. His sister Sophie was there; she saw her brother getting hurt, but she was too scared to move. She just stood there sweating and shivering. Phillip was doing the best he could to be free, but the boy was strong enough to keep him down. Suddenly, Phillip’s friend Nathan showed up. He helped Phillip break free and hit the boy who attacked him.
Phillip was sent home because he was in so much pain. Sophie was so shocked and ashamed of herself because she didn’t step forward and help her brother. After dismissal, Sophie rushed home into her brother’s room. She found him lying down wearing a neck cast. Her mom told her that if he got hurt more he would have cracked his neck and died. Everyone was thankful for Nathan’s surprise rescue.
Sophie sat by her brother's bed with regret in her eyes as she wept softly for a while, then she left him to rest. It was already night time and Sophie still couldn’t sleep, moments later her mom came through the door. She knew why Sophie was so worried. Sophie’s mom told her so many times that she couldn’t have done anything even if she wanted to, because the boy was too strong. After her mom left the room she felt a bit better, but she still couldn’t sleep comfortably.
The next morning, Sophie sat with her family for breakfast. She looked around trying to notice if her brother was around. A few minutes later he walked in with apale look on his face. Phillip felt good enough to go back to school and see his friends. When Phillip saw Nathan he thanked him so many times because he saved him.
Phillip sneaked away to the bathroom because something bothered him in his neck. When he reached the bathroom he dropped to the floor screaming from the pain, and then he fainted. One of his friends passed by the bathroom and saw him; he picked him up and called for help. By the time the ambulance came, the whole school was watching outside.
Sophie had no idea what was going on, until her sister Amanda came rushing to her classroom excusing Sophie from her teacher. Sophie still didn’t know what was happening until Amanda explained to her what was going on. As soon as she heard Phillip’s name coming out of Amanda’s mouth she ran as fast as she could to see him. The ambulance was gone when she got there, so she called her parents to follow and she took a taxi with Amanda.
Everyone was at the hospital worried and waiting for the news from the doctor. The doctor finally came clearing his throat; everyone stood up ready to hear what he had to say hoping for good news. “We had some complications, Phillip could not breath” said the doctor. Everyone started to cry, then the doctor interrupted, “He is fine now, we made it through and he will be ready to go home in 3 days.”
A few months later, after Phillip’s recovery, he returned to school. On his first day back, he noticed Gloria looking at him so he walked over to her and he told her, “Good Job! Wouldn’t you have been happy if I died?” Gloria didn’t care what had happened to him so she responded with a dirty look. Like a man, Phillip walked away.

My Best Vacaition Ever

My best vacation ever was when I went to Cairo with my family and friends.
I was really excited because I am one of the people who adore history. I stepped into the airplane so excited, smelling the fresh food, the smell of the seats was fresh, just standing there admiring everything. "Put on your seatbelts and turn of your phones" said the pilot. An hour past until we reached Egypt. I stepped out of the airplane then went into a bus to go to the airport. I had my passport checked and then I went to the hotel.
My family, friends and I settled in the hotel Grand Hyatt. When I first entered the hotel I heard the classical music on the piano and heard the splashes of people in the pools. We checked in then went up to our rooms. I opened the door then jumped on the bed, oh so fluffy.
After we settled in the room we went on a cruse on a boat. We saw how Egyptians used to make food, how they wrote and lots of other interesting things. I went into a shop with my family and friend; the shop was a dress up shop where people put on costumes of the Egyptians. We took real funny pictures.
At 5:00 we went back to the hotel to rest then have dinner. The next morning was really interesting because I went to see the pyramids. We went on horses to the pyramid then rode camels. I liked the part when we went into the pyramids and saw the rooms that the Egyptians used to bury the dead in, then we went to see the mummies and other artifacts. I was shocked to see that the mummies' teeth were still white as pearls, but then I knew why, it's because of the heat that is in the box where the mummies were. I saw the queen and saw another queen’s heart that was in a pot.
After we went back to the hotel and had dinner in an amazing place called The Revolving Restaurant. The cool thing was that I was moving the whole time, I felt a little dizzy at first but then it worked out well.

If I turned into an animal,
I would like to turn into a bird.
If I where a bird,
I would fly in the sky up high, to reach the clouds.
I want to be a bird because I want to spread my wings and fly away,
in freedom.
I would visit a lot of countries in the world,
I would chirp and sing everyday.
If I where a bird I would like to be treated kindly; if I am a bird I would be full of joy.

Homeless Bird is an amazing story by Gloria Whelan. This story talks about a thirteen year old girl called Koly who married a boy called Hari. Koly was told that Hari is 19, but on the wedding day Koly finds out that Hari is younger than she is and that his parents tricked her into marrying him just to take her money. The money was used to get a doctor to try curing Hari's sickness, but the doctor sadly said there is no cure. Sass, the mother in-law, told the doctor that she is taking her son to the Veranasi where there is a lake; well as Indians believe that lake would cure anything. The doctor said it was a bad idea because it's a long journey, but no one could change Sass's mind. The next day the family took Hari and went to the lake. Koly compared herself to a homeless bird when she read a poem in the book of Sassur, which is Koly's father in-law. But after the events she was a homeless bird flying back home.

I started having fun in my vacation on the second day of the Christmas break, when I got a call from my friend inviting me to the movies to watch Madagascar 2. In the movies I laughed so much that tears of joy came rolling down. I had a great time, until it was 8:00 when I had to leave. The next day I started finishing my vacation homework; it was not that fun. On Sunday, the 28th of December, I went with my three friends to my friend Arwa's house. I had so much fun. The best part was when we went up and down the elevator, we where dizzy but had fun from the lobby to Arwa's house up, down ,up ,down. When we got tired and stopped and we tried to make the biggest balloons we can make and then we popped them all. There were big shutters that closed the balcony so we tried to crawl under the small space that was left but that was a terrible mistake because we where stuck. It was funny; Arwa's helpers pulled the shutters and then it was ok. These are some of the best events in my vacation. I can't wait to here your stories.

I never saw you,
you never saw me,
I never hugged you,
you never hugged me,
a heart attack--it was coming out of nowhere.
Happy you were with my dad seeing his new shop so proud,
waking you up,
no answer,
and there you were dead.
You left us and never met me,
you flew away to the sky saying goodbye.
A tear rolls down every once in a while.
Looking at your pictures,
all I see is,
you with your grey hair,
blue eyes,
and a stick you were holding.
You were young when you passed away,
you were a good man I hear my dad say.
I wrote this poem just for you,
to describe how much I love you. Even though there was no eye contact between you and me, I will always love you.

The Search for Flintstones

Finally it’s Wednesday November 19 2008. The Fifth grade went to find Flintstones in a rocky place next to roushe. We walked a long way from the bus to the shore, going to the shore we felt like Homo habilis, Homo habilis are handy men our early ancestors. We stood looking at the Flintstones on the ground and on the walls. Mr. Andre an outdoor teacher gave us safety goggles to protect our eyes. We all sat on the floor listening to his instructions then he showed us how to brake the Flintstones, all of us had turns cutting the stones with geologist hammers. Each hit sparks and flakes came out. We spread out trying to cut stones, after a while we hear our friend Garbis shouting out “I found bones” , we surrounded him seeing the bones, we acted like archeologists trying to figure out what bone was it for so we found out that it’s maybe a rat’s bones. Continuing to brake stones, click, click, bang, and bang. The Flintstones are really sharp kinds of stones so we had to be very careful holding them, and they were used for weapons by the Homo habilis 3 million years ago. We took pictures on the lower part and then went on the bus with loads of stones in our hands. We had a great time.

If Only They Could Speak

One hot summer day a man went into the woods to chop a tree. Chop, chop, and chop! The man was chopping a tree’s branches, “Ouch, my hand, leave my hand! Oh please leave my hands", begged the tree. The man started laughing, “This tree is perfect to burn down", he giggled. The man left laughing, and the tree was in pain.
It was the afternoon when voices of kids screaming echoed in the air and their faces covered with happiness. “Wow”, said a little girl “Oh yeah”, answered another, “It's pretty, and looks fun to swing on”, whispered a little boy. Let's climb it”, shouted a girl. Up, up, up they go “Oh, ouch. You are hurting me”, demanded the tree. "Oh, it’s breaking, my hand stop torturing me ouch”! Yelled the tree with almost no hands left.
The kids looked at the pretty leaves “Wow” whispered all; “let’s pick some”, said the boy. Pick pick pick. “My babies don’t pick my babies,” cried the tree. The kids jumped off the tree and kept on playing.
Night came and the sun faded away when at last no men and no kids were hurting it. Foots, “who is this?” asked the tree itself, “a boy, um and a…… oh a girl, what are they doing here, sitting under me?” the tree asked again oh , ouch , what’s that, something carving me, it shouted , a heart, oh ouch quit carving me, oh ouch”, oh please ouch,” the tree screamed. The two kids left and the tree rested. The tree woke up, and hoped that no one would come and bother it. “Steps coming towards me” the tree whispered to itself “oh man kids and parents” the tree sighed. The family spread a picnic cloth on the grass and spread the food. The tree was glad that no one climbed it or carved hearts or chopped its hands. The tree relaxed for about an hour until the picnic was over. “Hot, hot something hot oh oh no, there’s glass on the floor, the sun is rising no!” screamed the tree. He could not move, sun, glass, tree equals dead tree.

I would like to dedicate this poem to my grandma and great grandma.
Sad Moments start
When my greatgrandma entered the hospital.
My family waited,
pumping hearts,
sweating faces,
trembling hands
shiviring feet
nervouse souls,
curious brains.
beeb beeps the machine,
it's a curving line,
El hamdellah
she's fine,
but wait
here comes another beeb
IT'S A STRAIGHT LINE!
she's dead....
death has come to her
death is darkness
death is sadness
death is pouring tears
death is where she is
death is black clothes
death is where we all will be
death is hard
death is when your souls fly away.
empty village,
empty house,
her sparkiling old face has faded away.
I miss her kindness
I miss her soft voice
I miss her precious heart.

Dear New 4C Students and New Teacher,
When it was Move-up Day I was nervous because I had a new teacher. When summer finished and I was going back to school, I was in the fourth grade. I did not want a new teacher but that was what I got. When weeks passed by I liked my new teacher. He was kind, funny, and was helpful; I learned a lot of new things like synthesis, writing a biography, writing letters and a lot more.
Fourth grade is really cool because we play fun games and we write stories. You guys will be a little nervous but when it comes to the end of the year you would wish to stay in fourth grade.
Well, in fourth grade you have to be really serious when it comes to work. Fourth grade was one of the best years, because I had a lot of fun. In fourth grade you go to a lot of cool field trips and you learn a lot, you go to Faqra, Moussa Castle, and to Beiteddien.
In fourth grade you learn about the Phoenicians. The Phoenicians are people from centuries ago. In fourth grade you will go to the Phoenician wall; oh and the coolest thing is the soup factory.
In fourth grade you learn division in big numbers, about the world and its countries. Fourth grade is a really cool grade and I promise you, you will have fun.
Your friend, Lea

School out let’s scream and shout,
School’s out let's hurry out,
I think summer is here
It's calling me, I can hear
It is telling me to rip my books and hurry to the beach,
To lick the ice cream and forget test screams and have some fun with out rules hanging on me.
No more time outs or homework.
No more nagging to go to the beach School is almost out!

It's almost summer time and I am really hyper.
I want to swim and jump in the largest pool. There are 2 more weeks until I am free, free from homework and tests that are uncool. I want to travel to Hawaii or France to houla and enjoy the waves, to see the dolphins and to have some real fun.

I run away crying,
tears drop every second,
I run and run so scared of a bomb that might hit my head, everyday I hear a gunshot then see it in the air.
I am so scared,
I drive and drive very fast,
my feet are trembling and my hands are turning blue,
I go away with my family to somewhere safe,
I hear helicopters next to me,
I leave,
I go,
I cry,
I sleep.

I put him next to me in bed.
In the morning I found my bed so wet, so I found out that the snowman peed his pants.

In the Morning - In the Night

In the morning I wake up and see,
cotton clouds,
light blue skies,
flying birds chirping in the trees,
waves so calm,
green grass,
fresh cool air,
colorful flowers,
and shining sun and hear no sound.
In the night I see,
the sky so dark,
sleeping birds,
waves so black,
the moon shining so bright,
the stars twinkling in the sky,
the goldfish shining,
and I hear no sound because everyone is snoring in their sleep.

Our school needed computer things so we send the computer teacher to get them.
For a keyboard she got a board that's shaped like a key,
when we needed a mouse she brought A REAL MOUSE!.
She is so crazy just like a daisy, we fired her and called the fire department.

p.s. no offense Mrs.B

My laptop is not working
it's always shutting down.
I took it to the school nurse so she told me put it in bed,
I took it to a doctor; he told me give it medicine.
I took it to a geek and everything worked out well.

Summer i can't wait

I can't wait for Summer, I want to dive and swim,
Catch fishes,
eat chicken and sit in a lake.
I can't wait for the warm weather and the sunny days. I can't wait to hear waves,
I want summer to come before I explode of all the waiting I have on hold.
It's really too confusing,
when it's summer it's boiling hot and when its winter it's hot.
I think the weather wants summer because it's changing with no permission.

Going to the Doctor

My sister and I have an appointment at the doctor,
We have to take a shot.
I took my shot in a blink but my sister ran away,
she ran around the doctor's office screaming, she cried, ran, jumped and waved her hands.
The doctor tore his hair out so that he was bald.
The doctor pulled my sister back into her spot and took her shot.
The needle was sharp as a bee's sting and as painful as a bees.
My sister never came back, never even for a blink.

I had a cat called Blue,
Her eyes where blue and her hair was white,
She was soft as snow and cute as a puppie ,
I played with her baby feet and scratched her tiny tummy.
I got a ball that she loved,
I put her on my arm for her to fall asleep.
I miss my cat and I wish she was still here.
I miss how she ran in the grass and tumbled in my hands.
I miss her.

When I looked at the sea,
I sat.
I felt the soft sand falling between my fingers.
I felt the cold waves splashing on my feet,
I felt the wind flying threw my hair,
I felt the warmth of the sun on my face.
I saw seagulls on rocks,
I saw dolphins playing with others,
I saw fishes swimming around my feet,
I saw crabs,
I saw shells and seaweed.
I dived in the sea. I swam and swam until I reached the depth of the sea.
I saw the corals and the cat fishes,
baby sharks,
baby dolphins.
I heard the sounds of every splash I make,
I heard the waves splashing on the seashore.
I sat on a rock and started thinking of what I see and saw.
I tumbled back to the seashore swallowing salt water.
I collected sea glasses,
I poured the sea glasses in a bag and went home and made a picture about what I saw.

I jump,
I jump to the bottom of the water,
I feel the waves splashing above my head.
I adore,
adore the colorful corals,
I see the fishes swimming by me.
I swim deeper and deeper in the water,
I find darkness,
I swim back up,
up to the top where the fishes are to let this end.

My cooking teacher is a bit crazy,
she taught me how to cook a butterfly,
put some butter on a fly.
When we wanted to make a fruit salad with the fruits punny and pear, she got a punny joke and a pear of socks.
She drives me nuts because she's a nut. She brought some straws and berries just to make some strawberries.
When she wanted watermellon she got mellon with water.
I'm glad she went away, mom fired her because of the fire she made.

I went in my barn, I picked up my cow, and shook him very well.

To My Friend, the Phoenician Survivor
To be able to survive you need to know about what money to use, what language they talk and what their houses are made of.
Phoenician money was made of different kinds of metals, mostly copper. Their money is used in a lot of places.
The Phoenician language is made of 22 characters, but it doesn't have any vowels. Phoenician words are found in other languages like Egyptian, Akkadian, Arabic, and Aramaic.
The Phoenician houses are made of carved rocks, the walls are covered in mud and the floors are made of pebbles.
I hope my researching helps you come back.
