One day I read an e-mail, about underprivileged kids.
The underprivileged kids lived on the streets, no food, no water nothing, but the underprivileged kids, felt like they had EVERYTHING.
They were actually quite happy, they were thankful to have a life.
A life, even though empty, they had a happy life,
And how, you may ask yourself,
How a happy life?
They barely had some food to eat,
And no roof to sleep under,
But they had a heart,
A thankful heart
And thankful,
And thankful for just having a life
That I will never forget
It taught me to smile,
Even if there is nothing to smile for,
Just remember what you have,
Unlike the kids,
You have a roof to sleep under,
Food and water on your table,
Entertainment, fun
But sometimes,
You are unhappy,
Unhappy for no reason, who knows,
But just remember,
You are lucky,
For having….. A life,
Smile :)

Article posted February 4, 2009 at 04:56 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 288

Genre: American Musical and performing arts.

Starring: Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr, Billie Burke, Frank Morgan and Margret Hamilton.

Director: Victor Fleming. Based on children’s novel by Frank Baum. (1900)

Dorothy wants badly to leave Kansas to go to a better place (some where over the rainbow). Then, during a tornado she dreams of going to a land called Oz. There she meets a scarecrow, a lion and a tin man. Then the three of them want to find a brain, courage, and a heart respectively. On the other hand, Dorothy missed her home so much and wanted so badly to go back home, to warmth, and people she loves.

At the end, the Wizard of Oz explains to all that what they are looking for is already in their hands but need things such as medals to confirm that someone recognizes it.

Personally I loved it!!!

Presidential Qualities

Article posted February 3, 2009 at 09:11 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 213

In my opinion I think any president should be and should have respect. It is very important for him and his community. He should gain trust from his community; he should be transparent. Responsibility is important to; if he is not responsible he might misplace important papers. He should have limits. He should know when to have fun and when to be serious.

One of the most important qualities a president should have is being on task; he should always have necessary papers, books and other items. That is my opinion of what a president should have.

BE HAPPY !!!!!!!!!

Article posted January 27, 2009 at 03:57 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 254

One day, my friends, Lea and Raneem, came to my house. We were watching a movie called DRIBLET TAYLOR. In the middle of the movie my mom called us. She said she wanted to show us an E-mail that my mom’s friend sent her. The E-mail was heart breaking. There were pictures and sayings. The E-mail showed pictures of little African kids begging for food. There was a picture saying: Complaining that you don’t like your shoes. And under it there was a picture with a woman that had made herself sandals made out of broken bottles.  But the one that really broke my heart was the one with a picture of a little girl, at the age of three or four, on the floor with a picture of her dead dad in front of her while she was begging for food. So all I want to say is BE HAPPY with what you have. J

My Superpower

Article posted January 23, 2009 at 07:28 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 258

If I could have a superpower I would wish to be invisible. If I could be invisible, like a ghost, I could pass through doors, and find out secrets that nobody discovered before. It would also be cool because I could help many people in trouble (or in a trap) and I would stop thieves and robbers from stealing, kidnapping and bank robbing. I would be a life saver.

Wendy (Realistic Fiction)

Article posted January 21, 2009 at 06:37 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 159

On November 23, 1970 a little girl was born in Poland. Her name was Wendy. Wendy was a very smart child who loved listening to music. Her mother, Fiona died when Wendy was only three. After her death, Wendy and her father felt an enormous emptiness. When Wendy was five her father was fired from his job as a mechanical engineer. Fortunately the next day he found a job in Ukraine and moved there with Wendy. Wendy was put in a school called St.Peters. She was an excellent musician and loved playing especially on the piano. Very one was inspired with Wendy’s music. She also wrote some pieces of outstanding music and preformed them to her music teachers at her school. When Wendy was ten her father suffered from the incurable then, leukemia. During that very tough time the only thing that made him peaceful was Wendy’s music. Her music took him places and made him forget all the harshness of him illness. Unfortunately one year later he passed away. Wendy missed him dearly but had faith and knew he was next to her listening to her heavenly music. Wendy won awards from making master pieces out of music. Wendy went to hospitals all around the world and played music to all the patients, especially to the ones with leukemia. Before Wendy died she said “My wish is for all mankind to learn or at least appreciate music as it brings piece and joy.” Therefore she founded an academy for young gifted musicians for free.

My Trip to Canada

Article posted January 14, 2009 at 06:19 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 163

During the summer vacation, before grade three started, I went to Canada with my father, mother and brother to see my uncle, his wife and kids. I was so exited when we got there. They had a big house with a little garden and a dog named Strike. There was a little park near the house that my family and I used to go to almost every day. One of my favorite cousins, Dana, who was 16, used to come with me in the morning and walk Strike. At night, before we went to bed, we used to sit in the garden, quiet, just listening to the sounds of nature.

One day my family and I went to an amusement park called La Rond. My mother and I went to a swing ride and had a blast, while my brother and dad went on a monster ride. Before the day ended we played a game and I won! I got to choose a stuffed animal, I choose Scooby Dooby-doo.

We had the most amazing time ever!!!

5B's Trip

Article posted November 21, 2008 at 07:01 AM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 302

Ok, let’s go back 2,000,000 years ago, to the Stone Age, where the Homo habilis lived. That is where 5B went today, (November/19/08). On a hunt for flint stones .flint stones are what the Homo habilis used to make stone tools from, but the tools weren’t that advanced but they got better and bigger day by day. Back to now, the 21st century, 5B’s trip. First we (5B) went by bus to the sea shore, put on our safety goggles and started to look for flint stones. Some of them were covered with lime stone and some were impossible to pull out, but luckily some were on the floor so we gathered them up and started to sharpen them with a hammer. Our trip was all about felling like we like we lived 2,000,000 years ago that that is exactly what happened. We had an awesome time!!!

If Only They Can Speak

Article posted November 4, 2008 at 06:57 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 270

Yuck! Ewe! I’m surrounded with spit. In out, and out, I’m tired of being sucked by a baby! One day when the mom, the dad and the baby went out to the market they forgot the diaper bay and me in the house. When they came back I heard them complaining “Get the diaper bag, now, it’s your fault!” Says the mother. “How it is my fault? The baby is your responsibility, not mine.” The father answers back. The next day before they went to bed they washed me, wiped me and put me in the bag. That was the best part of the day. One morning it was really smelly in the diaper bag, when I looked behind me I found a diaper splattered with poop all over. It was the most horrible thing you can ever imagine! I always wished I can go to the future when the baby is older and I will always be clean. When the people go to sleep, the clean diapers, the powder and I tell each other bed time stories till we go to sleep. Yuck! Ewe! Again! He vomited on me. No one takes care of him; sometimes they let him do whatever he wants in his play room. What kind of parents are they?! They even hired the worst baby sitter in the world. (She actually sat on him once.) She never takes care of him. She comes, puts the TV on, and eats; and when they come they pay her and she goes. Oh! I also wanted to tell you, in this house there is a dog named Lazy. And luckily he does not use me. Otherwise I would have been chewed on and ripped into a thousand pieces.

My favorite season is fall. I love it because all of the beautiful colors of leaves on the ground. Orange, yellow, brown and green. These are all the wonderful colors in fall. You usually see birds in the sky. And it begins to get a little cold. I love fall because of all these reasons.
