Our Flint Stone Trip in Raouche
We went on a field trip on Wednesday 19 November 2008 to a place near Movenpick in Raouche to find the tools that Homo-Habilis used 2.5 million years ago. Over there we found lots of rocks and stones.
Flint Stones are extremely hard to pull out of the ground because they are hard and sharp so we used a geologist hammer to take it out and each of us got a chance to use the hammer! But Homo-Habilis used other stones to brake or pull out Flint Stones. We learnt that even little Flint flakes can harm so we had to be very careful on how we held the Flint Stones and wore goggles when we hit the rocks with the geologist hammer. Homo-Habilis used Flint Stones to kill wild animals.
