Book Review We have completed the reading of The Cay. It is your chance to tell the world what you think about this book by Theodore Taylor. You will do so as a book review.

Decide what your opinion is of this book. Your topic sentence should provide that opinion in a creative manner. Select a couple of literary aspects to discuss in your writing. You might choose the characters, the climaxes, the overall plot, the author's writing style, the mood of the book, the conflict or any other literature topic you wish. Discuss those with respect to your opinion of the book. Be sure to cite examples from the book to support your ideas. You have several homework sheets that might help you with this.

Be sure that you have a powerful conclusion sentence that restates your main idea. In fact, powerful wording will score you higher on this assignment.

Once the article has been written, reread it, edit it, run it through spell check, and then when you think you have it as good as you can make it, print it and turn it in for scoring. You will need to attach a self-scored rubric with your copy.

Have fun-be passionate about your review and let the world know what you thought of Theodore Taylor's book, The Cay.
