Thanks for checking out our petroglyph stories. Making the petroglyphs was little messy; but a lot of fun. Click on Team Awesome (on the right side of the screen) and you can watch each student's petroglyph story! Enjoy

We will work on persuasive writing later this year. As an introduction, we are having show and persuade this week. The children are invited to bring a favorite item from home to share. Using a paragraph format, the children will convince the class of the awesomeness of their item.

As the students have been presenting their Holdiay Research Projects, I have been creating video blogs. You can click on your child's name to see the video! It's pretty awesome. I love the way these turned out and I plan to do more projects like this in the new year.

I apologize that we haven't blogged in a while. Our normal computer lab time is Friday morning. During the last month we've had assemblies on some Friday mornings and on 2 Fridays the district had our computer lab shut down so they could work on the computers. I am really hopeful that we can blog one more time before the winter break.

Our most recent blogs were a change from News of the Week. We wrote on Monday and the children wrote about their weekends. This was a 3-day weekend, so many children had some wonderful trips and events to write about. Enjoy!

Some families have become active on the blog. This is a great tool for keeping extended family and friends in touch and it's a great way to encourage real-life literacy skills. All of the students know their login and password and can access their blogs from home. They can write new articles and even personalize their blog. I encourage those who are interested to explore these features (you can even upload your own photo). A personalized blog is even more fun!

Blogs are awesome!!
The class entered their first blogs!!! Yay! Several children completed entries from home... AWESOME! I have gotten lots of compliments from grandparents and other extended family about blogs. They often enjoy keeping in touch with school, so let them know about our website (they love the pics, too).
