This is a video that I made about some of the ways that we use technology in our classroom. I was fortunate enough to win an award from Mindshare Learning with it.

Big Drift

Today was a snow day and only two students were at school. The snowdrift outside our window was taller than the students! Click here to see one of the things we did in the afternoon.

Unbelievably, we have been having snowman-making weather in Moose Jaw in January. These are the snowmen we made INSIDE.

Olympic Torch in Our Classroom

The father of two of my former students got to carry this torch when it was in Saskatchewan last weekend. Today he allowed his children to show it to us! In case you're interested, it weighs about five pounds and is white because of the snow.

Eating Toast If you're wondering why we were eating toast at school, check out the step by step instructions for making toast that the children posted on their blogs. We tried to write down all the steps in just the right order. Organizing their writing like this is just one of the things that good writers do, and we want to learn them all.

Tradition! Tradition!

Article posted December 6, 2009 at 02:52 AM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 8686

Cheyanne's Tree Just in time for Christmas, we have been talking about traditions we have. Last year, I created a wiki to collect traditions. This year, we checked out the traditions wiki to start our thinking about what our own traditions were. Check out the student's blogs to see one of their Christmas traditions. You can also add a tradition of your own to our tradition wiki. We'll be watching it to see what traditions other people have.

I made the video below for a presentation that I was giving about media literacy for primary students. It features students of mine from last year and this year. When I showed it to the class this morning, they wanted it to be put on our blog so that they could watch it again!
