Good Friends

I wanted to let you know how impressed  am with all of you.  You all treat each other very well and are always asking each other to play Twister and other games during recess. You are a very unique class and recently you have had one of your friends leave the classroom to get care from doctors and nurses to help to make him as healthy as he can be.  You have all shown a concern for him and I thought this might be a place where you could leave him a message and he could write back to you. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOUR FRIEND IN THE HOSPITAL, OR EVEN WHEN HE RETURNS HOME, PLEASE USE THIS SPACE.

So Much Going On

We sure had a busy day!  During the first few days, you were asking how soon it would be before we could get to work on with "regular" Fourth grade work.  Well......this week you have been getting a taste of what the year will bring. You have started your STAR Journals, we are watching our plants grow, you are using your 5 senses to describe the attributes of a gourd, you completed a time line in Social Studies, you completed a math test, you have been independently reading and completing reading tests, you have learned about bar graphs......and it is only TUESDAY!  You will all do wonderfully !! Keep up the good work.

I just finished grading yourspelling words and your addition and subtraction quizzes - it sure was a busy day.  I always enjoy learning about books and our classroom library.  I mostly enjoyed beginning to read Danger on Midnight River, it is SUCH a good book.  I can't wait to hear what your predictions are!

Almost Time for Back to School!!!!

Well, I have just finished with horse camp for the summer and now I am ready to focus on preparing the classroom for the new 4th grade coming in.  I have already changed the way the furniture is in the room and am excited about some of the changes I have made.  I will be spending most of the next two weeks in the classroom getting ready for your smiling faces.  It has been fun seeing some of you over the summer and hearing how excited you are about starting school -- we will have a great year=http://!!  If you are a new 6th grader this year just relax and know that you will do wonderful if you just remember what we have taught you in elementary school and everything that your parents have taught you :-)   Remember to stop in and see us once in awhile - we would love to hear how things are going.  If you are going into 5th grade this year please remember that I am just across the hall and always enjoy having you stop in and say hello during my breaks (as long as Mr. Lalonde doesn't mind :0 )  See everyone soon -- enjoy the rest of your summer!

One Day I Went to the SPCA

Another group story!!

One day I went to the S.P.C.A. and wanted a new dog.  The one I wanted was purple.  Then I decided I wanted a purple and green dog!  That's like Barney!  Then I wanted a pink cat.  I wanted a blue hamster. I wanted either a Pembrook Welscorg or a Begal.  Pretty soon I had too many pets in our house and we had to give one pet away!  It was the hamster, to bnd that the new peron had a cat, that was the end of the hamster! Then I sold every animal and bought a pet rock for $1,000!  It was fun!  What a RIP OFF!  After than I bought the whole S.P.C.A. I took 1 cat, 3 dogs, and 2 ferrets from them for free.  That's the most pets I've every had, and I was very glad.  You have to be responsible for the pets.  They could get hurt if you don't!

My Teacher Gave Me a Pencil

Article posted April 22, 2009 at 01:32 PM GMT-5 • comment (1) • Reads 124

We have been writing stories during our morning work.  We start with one sentence and then we each add one more sentence until we have a story. Enjoy!

You will never believe what happened when my teacher gave me a ne pencil.  First, I sharpened it!  Then I broke it.  Then I asked for another one and she said, "Only one more pencil." So, I sharpened another.  Then my eraser broke - uh,oh!  I had to get a new eraser! Then I sharpened it so much I couldn't hold it.  It broke in half during Writer's Workshop.  I love writing in Writer's Workshop.  I like writing to Mr. Obama!  Then my pencil broke when I finished the letter, but my pencil broke again!  I wish I could have another pencil. If I had another pencil I would take good care of it!
