Happy New Year!

Article posted January 3, 2012 at 03:55 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 9612

I hope you all had a relaxing, fun, and safe holiday season! However, it is now time to look ahead to what 2012 will bring. As a fifth grader, one of your goals is to be a self-motivated learner. In order to do that, you need to be making goals, working hard at meeting those goals, and monitoring to know when they are met. Then, set new goals!

Let's get this year started out right! Think about one or two goals you have for yourself (as a student) and post them on your blog, as a new article. When you're done, check out other student's goals and be sure to help your classmates reach and exceed them!

Reading is one of my absolute favorite ways to pass the time. Currently, I am reading a book at home and a book to the class. We have just begun reading a book called Notes from the Dog, by Gary Paulsen. He has done a great job of creating a strong image of the main charracter for us.

What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it to a classmate? Who would like it and why? Add a comment to this article, sharing your book title, author, who else would like it and why it is recommendable! Thanks!!!

Think about how you can DO YOUR BEST when you take a test. Now, share two suggestions or strategies that you'll use (reply as a comment).
