A group of Catalan students went to Pornainen (Finland) in May. Students from Finland are coming to visit Caldes de Montbui next March. This site is thought for exchanging information between both classes and make this project the most effective and interesting as possible.

Description: The quickest way to go to Finland is by plane. Many of you have never travelled by plane. It's very easy and safe, don't worry, but you have to know a few things you have to do at the airport, before getting on the plane.

Do you know the meaning of these words? "check in", "departure", "flight", "arrivals", "gate", "on board", "crew", "delay" ....


TO MY STUDENTS:

A. Write the meaning of the words above on your article.

B. Go to Randall's ESL Listening lab and follow the steps:

1. Go to General listening quizes

2. Click on "Airport announcement" (Listening Quizzes for Academic Purposes, difficult)

3. Do the pre-listening and listening exercises (Read Quiz Script, the Explanation of Answers and the Text Completion Quiz)

4. Add 5 new words in your article.

flight > vol
arrivals > arrivada
gate > porta
on board > a bort
crew > tripulació
delay > retras

and I add 5 new words:

pilot > pilot
wings > ales
run way > pista d'aterratge
overbooked > accés de reserves

gate: porta.
on board: a bord.
crew: el equip(la tripulació)
delay: tarda.
