HORSES
Horses are amazing animals that you should learn about! There are: breeds of horses, colors of horses, and the family of horses. To find out a little bit about them, read on!!!
Some of the common breeds of horses are: Paint, Appaloosa, quarter horse, Palomino, Belgian, and lastly the Przwalski horse. The Przwalski horse is the only surviving subspecies of horse that hasn’t been domesticated. When you get a horse, you should choose the "just right" breed. Some are big; some small. As you can see, the breed of horse makes every horse different from another.
Finally, the family of horses include zebras and donkeys, which are the main relatives of horses. The difference is that zebras always have stripes and live in herds. Donkeys are different than horses because they are smaller; they have an uneven mane and they have a tufted tail.
Horses are an amazing animal because of their breeds, their colors and their family. I hope you will learn more about this amazing species, now that you have learned a little bit about them!

Who you know as Laura Ingalls Wilder has more to her than being the author of the Little House series. She lived in many places until she died at ninety-two years of age, in the year 1959. At first, she lived in Pepin, Wisconsin, then Independence, Kansas, and after that: Walnut Grove, Minnesota; Burroak, Iowa; De Smet, South Dakota; Spring Valley, Minnesota; Westville, Flordia; Mansfield, Missouri; and Malone, New York. A few events that happened to her are: writing for the Missouri Ruralist; writing the Little House books; getting married; having a daughter, Rose; and having a little boy, Charles Frederick, who died at a year of age. I will always remember the little house author, for all the things she has done to help and entertain her community and readers, and I hope you will never forget her either.

She hates
No reading time,

From what I know,
She loves
Her parents,
Her pets,
Her friends,
Books
And hot clam chowder.

But for me
You see,

“Some peoples don’t though,” I say.

Forever.
Dragons
I have a dragon,
A dragon named Moo
I have a dragon,
And so do you
A tiny dragon,
Always there.
A tiny dragon,
One to spare.
An invisible dragon,
Invisible to you
An invisible dragon,
His name Is Lue.
Paige
Paige is one
One best, best friend
Who’s always there:
Brilliant and happy,
Ready to share,
Her friendship and kindness,
Her number one self
Her best buddies too,
Which is one like myself.
Soccer
Soccer, soccer,
It’s what I do.
Soccer, soccer,
For me and for you.
A game at the park,
Or a competitive meet,
I’ll always be there,
With the ball at my feet.

More and More Math
Math at first, well, was like how I feel about it now. Sure, I can do harder problems and I have definitely improved, but it is really the same. It’s a little challenging, but I can still do it quite easily. The math has gotten harder, but I have gotten smarter. All in all, I’ve gotten better in math, and I feel good about it!

I think that good hygiene means to keep clean; bad hygiene is maybe to not keep clean. For example, good hygiene is brushing your teeth, showering, changing your clothes, and just being self conscious about your body and health. On the other hand, bad hygiene would be not brushing your teeth and hair, not showering and not being the best at taking care of your body and health in physical ways. I hope that people will have good hygiene, and keep clean. Bad hygiene is obviously bad, so don’t do it! All in all, be cool and keep clean!

I haven’t written on my blog in SUCH a long time! During Spring break, I went Hawaii! I went to Oahu, to be specific. I had SO much fun! They have really good shaved ice, and I even got to swim with a sea turtle! On the day we swam with a sea turtle, we were snorkeling, and saw lots of cool fish. Then, a guy suddenly said: “Hey! There’s a sea turtle over here!!!” We were so excited, because we have been wanting to swuim with one. We quickly swam over and I was so close to the turtle that I could touch it!
Also, we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. I had the best time ever! We saw the seven different cultures of Polynesia and did lots of interactive things. The next day we went there, we did a Luau and saw an evening show of the cultures and it was awesome!
All in all, Hawaii was the best trip ever with lots of exciting events. Have you gone there? If you haven’t, you should soon!!!

If you were to ask me what signs of spring I see right now, this is what I would say: "Well, it isn’t very springy right now, with all the snow. The signs I do see are that daffodils and tulips are starting to bloom, I'm smelling fresh cut grass like a dog hears his name being called, and I am starting to see a lot more worms! Yuuuummy! What about you? What signs of spring do you see?

Time Twisters
By: Raspberry and Elephant Ears
Chapter 1
“Class,” said Mr. Green, “Please quiet down, there is big news,” everybody fell silent. “We are going to have a science fair,” everyone moaned, everyone except Katy Ganz that is. The reason for the moaning was that summer was near and they certainly were not in the mood to do any more major assignments. “This is your first year doing this assignment, so let me explain,” Mr. Green continued in an oddly stern voice. “You will present an explanation for your experiment on a poster board with your project below it. Your project is due two weeks from now, the 28th of May.”
By now Katy was about to BURST with excitement and when the school bell finally rang she ran home at top speed. If this was going to be a good project she needed to get started!
“Mom,” Katy yelled as she rushed into the kitchen. “There is going to be a science fair,”
“That’s exciting,” her mother replied weakly.
“What’s the matter mom,” Katy asked sweetly. Before Katy knew what was happening her mother burst into tears for no visible reason.
Then Katy realized that she did know what was happening. She had been avoiding the subject ever since her dad had been gone on a “business trip” to Tokyo. It was all coming back to her now though, the yelling; the tears; the fighting; Katy’s parents were getting divorced.
Katy felt like it was her fault. She wanted to roll back time and stop them from fighting. Suddenly an idea came to Katy. Maybe she could turn back time, maybe she could make a time machine as her science fair project and then maybe just maybe, could she stop her parents divorce!
Chapter 2
The next morning, Katy woke up bright and early. She had work to do! She pulled on some jeans and an orange T-shirt. As she hurried out to the garage, she gulped down some cereal. While she ate, Katy looked around the garage. Exactly how was she going to build this thing? All she could see was some tools on her dad’s workbench, now deserted, a whole bunch of boxes (metal and cardboard), the metal from her broken dishwasher, and her mom’s blue Volvo. That was it, that’s all she had. Suddenly something came to her. With her moms’ permission, Katy could use all this to make her time machine! The good thing was that she would clean out the garage doing it. The bad thing was that her parents couldn’t know about the time machine. All of a sudden something interrupted her thoughts. Someone had opened the garage door. It was her mom.
“What are you doing?” she asked. As if the episode of last night hadn’t occurred.
“Um… working on my science fair project.” She replied uncertainly.
“What is it going to be,” Her mother asked, still acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened the night before. “I’m making a time machine,” Katy answered slowly, not sure why her mom was acting so happy. As you may know there is a time and
a place for everything, and if your child has found out the night before that you are divorcing her father, then that is not the time.
“Um…. Mom?”
“Yeah?’’
“Can I use some of the things in the garage to make my time machine?”
“Sure” Said Katy’s mom.
“Thanks” Said Katy, “But why were you coming out here?”
I was just going to tell you to start on your science fair experiment, but I see you’re already doing it, so I’ll let you be.”
Katy was amazed that her mother, normally the one to ask too many questions, hadn’t asked any about her project!
Katy decided she had better get started on her project if she was going to turn it in on time. She started looking around the room for objects to us in her time machine.
When it was time for dinner, the time machine turned out as an abnormal triangle with patches of cloth, metal, paper, and cardboard.
After dinner she would try it out, not that she expected it to work but she had to try!
“Time for dinner!” Her mother’s voice called out. Katy left the garage with high hopes and a hungry stomach.
After her favorite dinner of juicy steak sirloin, garlic bread filled with butter, a mouth-watering chunk of chocolate cake, along with some milk to wash it all down, Katy decided to try the time machine out. She probably shouldn’t have tried it out on a full stomach but her anxiousness was getting the better of her! She snuck into the garage. Katy hopped into the time machine and dialed four numbers, the numbers were: 4999. When she pressed enter, the machine shook and vibrated. This caused Katy to role over and hurl. Her stomach just couldn’t take it. Before Katy had any time to recover, a flash of bright blue light blinded her. It was at that moment that she vanished, her screams echoing in the garage.
Chapter 3
When Katy awoke, she noticed that she was in some sort of a small portable house. Where am I? Katy wondered.
Then two thoughts came to her; one was that she was covered in puke, which was the more disgusting thought. But the second thought was that she was in the future. Not the past! How was she going to stop her parent’s divorce now? The divorce had all ready happened! But one thing lit a little light in her heart. If she found the time machine, she could go back to the past and stop her parent’s divorce! There was only one little problem: the time machine was nowhere in sight!
Katy searched everywhere and finally, she saw a tiny abnormal triangle down below. Then, Katy realized that she was in a hovercraft, so she was in the air, hovering!
On top of being afraid of heights, Katy had no idea what so ever how to get down! Lucky for Katy, she was a great inventor and knew that in a situation like this, you would have to make a grappling hook, however, thinking of the grappling hook wasn’t her luck because anyone could think of making a grappling hook but not everybody could make grappling hook! To make a grappling hook she knew she would need string and a grapple, so she started looking.
The first object she looked for was string because if she couldn’t find the grapple part she could always just use a rope. She found rope easily because there were little straps of hemp everywhere, which she tied together to make a rope. For the grapple she carefully ripped off a couple of little metal scraps from decorated sides of the hovercraft. When she had found all of the required utensils, she started building.
About an hour later, Katy was done with the grappling hook. She had made the grapple out of little pieces of bent metal, so it wasn’t the best she could do but she was in a hurry and it was worth a shot, anyways. She tried the first time and missed by about ten feet. “I guess I’m not that good at aiming,” Katy mumbled hopelessly. She knew feeling sorry for her self wasn’t going to help anything, so she kept on trying.
On the fifth try, it must have been magic, because Katy caught the time machine smack dab in the middle!
Chapter 4
Katy carefully hoisted herself onto the rope. She shut her eyes tightly and started climbing down. Down, down, down. As soon as she felt the rough texture of the time machine below her bare feet, Katy opened her eyes. She lay exhausted on the floor of the time machine, glad to be on the ground again.
This time Katy carefully typed in 2006. Everything happened as it had before, the zap of blinding blue light, the shaking and vibrating, and worst of all, the puking. But this time Katy wasn’t scared. In fact, she was far from it- she was excited!
When she awoke, she found herself in her house. Then, the weirdest thing happened. She saw herself. Not in a mirror, no, it was a double of her! Only Katy’s double was looking strait through her, as if she wasn’t there. “Errr... Hello?’’ Katy asked in an awed tone, amazed at what she was seeing. Nobody answered. Then Katy realized that it was as if she wasn’t there; nobody could see her, touch her, or hear her! So, with satisfaction that nobody knew she was there, Katy walked down the hall to carry out her plan.
She would trick her double into reading the message that she wrote. The message would say:
Dear Katy,
Please make your parents get along. If you don’t something bad will happen to your whole family.
-Anonymous
As her plan carried on, Katy grinned broadly; her plan was going to work!
After Katy had tacked the note onto a bulletin board in her room, she got in to the time machine and dialed the present. It happened just like the two times before, but Katy was too tired to notice; she was going home!
Chapter 5
Katy opened her eyes…again. This time there were 2 out of the ordinary things. One was that her mom was still showering! The other strange thing was that she was zipping around the house at full speed. Finally, she came to a halt when something hard rammed into her stomach. Katy was lucky she didn’t throw up because she was still a little woozy from that time machine. But she wasn’t going to throw up until she had seen what or whom she had rammed into. When she was sure that she had fully recovered she looked up and saw that she had rammed into herself! It was different than last time- she was actually there. You couldn’t see through her, you couldn’t walk through her, and you could hear her!
She had bumped into herself and now she was herself! But something was wrong- her dad was missing! Had she done all this for nothing or had he still not come home from his ‘business trip to Tokyo’? Katy needed some time to think so she ran to her room and thought, just sitting they’re thinking about her adventure. Suddenly her mom came into her room. Before she could say anything though Katy burst into a fit of tears.
“Oh what’s wrong, honey?” her mother asked sweetly.
“Are you kidding?!” Katy screamed. “ I can not believe you don’t know why I’m crying and your getting divorced from dad!”
“Honey, I would never do that! I love your father very much. Plus, I think you have a little fever. How about you take a calming nap before dinner?”
“ I am fine! Just let me talk to dad!
“ But he is sleeping, he’s very tired from his work trip to Tokyo and I think you are to, so get some rest and I will wake you up for dinner, you can speak with dad then.”
“ O.k.” She replied in the middle of a yawn. She was too tired to argue so she laid her head down on a pillow and rested.
After dinner, Katy turned on the T.V. As Planet Earth started, Katy’s dad came into the room “Dad=http://!!! You never got divorced! My plan worked! My replica read the note!”
“What plan? What replica? I don’t believe you ever told me about a plan. Katy, your mother was right. You do seem sick! What are you talking about?”
“Oh, never mind!” Katy replied.

"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut--my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is. . .Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

Here is the last part of my story, Time Twisters 2!
Epilogue
Two Years Later…
Katy was in the garage with some dirty work clothes on. She was working on her time machine. Two years ago, Katy’s dad had been planning to burn the same exact time machine- but Katy had saved it. With the help of her double from the past, she had created a plan to stop her parents from knowing about the time machine’s uses.
She was fixing it up, now that she had the money. Katy had bought a whole bunch of shiny metal to cover up all of the patched up mixture of cardboard, metal and cloth.
Her time machine was now a metallic, tent shaped masterpiece. The inside was fine. It was the same type of metal, with a few colored buttons for actually time traveling.
When she was finally done, Katy got into the time machine. She was going to see the past of herself- she visited regularly now. Ever since she had found out about being able to be friends with the past of yourself, and made up about the fight they had, they had been friends.
It was fun to go see the past of you. Katy filled her double in on everything that was happening, so she was basically from the present, since she knew about all of this. “It is so fun to be able to have a friend all to yourself. Plus, you can tell them anything, and it doesn’t really matter. It’s sort of like talking to yourself, except for that it’s more logic, because there’s actually someone there,” Katy thought happily.
With that, Katy pressed the buttons of the past and zoomed back in time.
“Goodbye future, hello past,” Katy whispered.

Chapter 4
Katy whizzed through time- again. She was prepared for zipping around the house once more and slamming into her body. As she vomited again and again- she was used to it now- the time machine came to a halt. Katy stepped out of the time machine after she had recovered, and looked around. She was in her garage again. It figured- she had started in this place.
Katy walked into her house and started to zoom around the house, just like she had expected. It was just like her first adventure. She zipped around the house and slammed into something- herself. This time though, she wasn’t as woozy, so she didn’t puke as much as she had on her first trip.
Finally, Katy was herself again. She walked up the stairs, excited to see if her plan had worked. When she walked into her parent’s room, she saw a phenomenal sight. Katy saw her parents together. They were laughing and talking on their bed. They both had smiles on their faces.
Katy walked out of the room, deciding not to spoil the fun they were having. She closed the door quietly and went downstairs to get a snack. Like a normal girl, living a normal life. The kind of life Katy wanted.

This is the third chapter of Time Twisters 2!
Chapter 3
A fit of screams burst out in the air. “WHY is this happening to me??? I want my life to be NORMAL for ONCE=http://! UHHGGG=http://!” Katy’s double screamed at the top of her lungs. Both girls were screaming at each other, but for totally different reasons. Katy was scared out of her wits by her doubles loud yelling, and also sort of mad that her pair didn’t understand. Her double, on the other hand, was furious. She couldn’t get why she shouldn’t stop her parents divorce. It was like committing a crime!!!
Katy was basically crying by then. “Stop it=http:// You don’t understand! You don’t have to! I’m just trying to help!
“Well you aren’t,” her double shot back. “ You’re just making it worse.”
“If you calm down, I’ll tell you more about it. You don’t have to. I guess I’ll… think of something else,” Katy said as she choked back tears. As soon as Katy’s double saw a glisten in her eyes, she understood what she had done wrong. She had rejected Katy’s idea- probably the best one she had. Not very impressive. But that idea, the double could tell, was important.
The double walked over to Katy and put a hand on her shoulder. She was working out a plan in her mind. She hoped it would work. “You know, I could do a favor for you- for the same cause, I mean. But maybe something else, something that isn’t as hard for me. From what I know, maybe I could … just not tell Mom and Dad from the beginning. I mean I couldn’t just let them divorce like that when there’s a way to stop it. Maybe I could just promise you that I won’t tell them about anything. You don’t have to change what I’m going to do. I can do what’s supposed to happen, but just not tell Mom and Dad.”
“I guess,” Katy said, surprised that her stuck up double had even thought of that, let alone say that!
“Will that work for you,” the pair asked, changing herself from stuck up to smart and nice.
“Yah. Yah, that’s fine,” Katy replied. “I guess I’ll go now. Maybe I can come back sometimes. For fun, I mean.
“That would be fun,” her pair said. “But no more big favors!”
“Sure. Bye!”
“Bye!” the two girls hugged each other goodbye, and Katy walked into the time machine and started it up, prepared for the future of her life- now perfect.

This is the second chapter of Time Twisters 2!
Chapter 2
Katy walked into the garage, as if nothing was going to happen. The truth was the exact opposite. Not that anybody knew, of course.
Katy pulled the tarp of a big lump in the corner off the garage. The time machine. She hadn’t done this in a long time. Katy was sort of nervous. Shakily, Katy stepped into the time machine and pressed the buttons she thought were right. 2006. Enter. Bam! It happened just as it had before. The time machine started shaking and vibrating. Then, dead silence. Not what she had expected.
Then, she pressed the numbers again. Next, enter. This time, it worked. After another round of shaking and vibrating a flash of blue light appeared before her eyes, blinding her. After that, she hurled, vomiting in the corner over and over again. It was horrible.
Finally, everything stopped. As Katy recovered, she leaned against the wall of the time machine. As she breathed a raspy breath, Katy pushed the door open. She was in her room. The other Katy, the one from the past, was lounging in Katy’s chair. She smirked.
“Huh?” Katy thought aloud. “I’m not here. What’s she smirking at?”
“You,” came a voice.
“Who’s that?” Katy cried in a surprised tone.
“Me,” this time, Katy noticed that the other Katy’s lips were moving. Just like the words she was hearing.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh=http://=http://!!!!” screamed Katy.
“What are you screaming at, scaredy cat,” Katy’s double said again
“Y…y…you,” she stuttered.
“What, did you think I wasn’t here? Come on. This is my room, you know. Anyway, what are you doing here?” she asked in a stubborn tone.
“Uhh…don’t you know? Time machine. Ring a bell?”
“No. Duh.”
“Wow. Now I realize that in the past, I was really sassy,” Katy thought.
“Well,” Katy said in her nicest tone.” can I ask a favor of you? Can you please just not do anything about any big news that you find out?
“Ok,” Katy’s pair said. “What’s this about?”

This is my first chapter of the story that I wrote, Time Twisters 2. It will continue in another article.
Chapter 1
Eleven-year-old Katy Ganz raced home as fast as she could. She couldn’t wait to tell her mom the exciting news. Her school year was done and summer was beginning, but not for Katy. Her teacher, Mr. Green, had invited her to a trip to France! It was weird- the strictest teacher known to the school had invited her to France- her favorite country!!! As she raced down the street, Katy thought about it.
“Why should I be happy,” Katy wondered. “Out of everything that’s happening, I probably won’t even be able to go!”
Not that it mattered. Things were going to happen, and Katy couldn’t change that.
With her dad mad and away on a business trip, things were not going well for Katy’s family. Katy’s mom was really stressed out and crying half the time and Katy was in trouble with her dad. Big time. Ever since her dad and mom found out about Katy’s last adventure on the time machine to stop her parents’ divorce, her dad had been planning to burn it. He was coming home and the first thing on his planner was to burn it. You see, Katy’s dad liked things to go with the flow of nature. He liked things to happen the way they were supposed to happen. Katy was the first one to try out not following this rule, and the consequences weren’t exactly what she had expected. In a week, he was coming home from his business trip and Katy still didn’t have a plan. That was a problem. Katy’s time machine was really special to her. Her life would be completely dull without it.
Katy sighed. What was she going to do? A week left, no plan, and seconds of precious time ticking away. Katy wished she could change back time. She could, but... wait! If she could change back time, she could change anything! Katy sprinted home happily, excited to start working on her plan.
When she walked in her front door, red faced and delighted from the run home, she saw her mom. She was sitting at the table. Her eyes were red and puffy, like she had been crying. Like usual.
“What’s wrong Mom,” Katy wondered aloud. She knew what was wrong- stress. She had just said that to make her feel better.
“Your…dad…is…coming…home…today,” Katy’s mom choked out between sobs.
“Today,” Katy said.” it thought that he was coming home next week!”
“He called…change of…plans,” she cried.
“But why? Why did he make a change of plans? I don’t get it Mom. Does he just want to get rid of the time machine quicker?” Katy asked. “I mean this wasn’t what I had expected. Can’t he give me some slack?”
“Well, things happen, and you can’t change that,” Katy’s Mom sighed.
“She’s right, I can’t change the fact that things are going to happen,” Katy thought. “Unless….” An idea popped into Katy’s head. She ran up to her room to think about it.
This was Katy’s plan: she would go back in time with her time machine, and stop herself from stopping her parents from divorcing. Then her parents would never know! Her time machine would be saved! If her plan worked…

Mortimer J. Adler once said: “Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life.” I agree with him. Without reading, you wouldn’t have a very good job, you couldn’t read directions, basically you would have a pretty difficult life without reading. You would have to have reading to live a proper life! To me, reading is really fun. It gives you information about the world sometimes, like in the newspaper; it can tell you a story, like in a fiction book; it could tell you directions on what to do, like on a quiz; it could tell you anything! Again, “Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life.”

A Future Job

If I had to choose a future job to do, what would it be? Maybe it could be a job that hasn’t been invented yet. Yes, that would be cool to have a job that hadn’t been invented when you were ten years old. If you would ask me what job I would like, I’d say, “An environmental police.” Here is what I think: our world will be so polluted, destroyed and junky, that we probably won’t even be able to live here! That’s when the environment police come in. you see, if there is so much junk in the world right now, double that and that is a lot of junk that we’re going to have! The environmental police would patrol the states and make sure people don’t litter or anything. That is what future job I would want!

A Rock Story:A Story Of A Rock That Turned Out To Be Famous

It was a hot afternoon at the Carrara Quarry. Hundreds of workers dug into the earth and scooped up loads of marble. The rock was to be carried away to Florence, Italy. Tuscany was sixty miles southeast of Florence, where the marble was to be carved into Michelangelo’s latest statue, Medici Madonna.
Now, one little chunk of marble was very excited. It couldn’t wait to be shaped into a beautiful carving for everyone to see. When the ox-drawn cart was finally ready to go, it started up and bumped down the road. As the truck bounced along, the Carrara Quarry waved goodbye. Then, Florence said hello to its new marble!!
Soon, the beautiful marble was loaded off the wagon at Michelangelo’s studio. The rocks got put on a little cart down to the place where Michelangelo carved his magnificent statues. Finally, after hours of labor, the exquisite marble was done. It stood in the Medici Chapel. The statue was ready to be admired by everyone. The pure white marble was shaped into a woman holding a baby. It was very beautiful.
That marble was marble that had been through so many things. It had started out as little, broken apart rocks. Then, it turned into limestone. Then, after intense heat and compression, it turned into to marble. It turned into the beautiful marble that was carved into Medici Madonna. Now that is the story of a chapter in the life of a rock.

APRIL FOOLS
Here is an idea for putting the gnomes in Mr. Heritage’s office.
We could make a distracter. One of us would make him go somewhere else for at least 15 minutes. In that time, we could sneak into his office and put the gnomes in his office. For distracters, we could get another teacher to ask him to talk about ‘something’- maybe come into a class and give a speech. Another distracter is to find out if he has any meetings. Then, we could maybe change the time to April Fools day and in the morning. When he gets back from the meeting, there will be gnomes all over his office!

I am a protégée of my mom. From her, I have learned guitar. It is really fun to learn from her. I have my own three-quarter-length instrument. Personally, I think that my mom is a really good teacher and I have learned a lot from her. For as long as I have been playing-about one and a half years now, I have had lots of enjoyable moments. I have lots of fun when I play and I want to learn more. so far, I have learned how to play notes on the first three strings, and lots of chords. As you can see, I have learned a lot from my mom and I am happy and excited with my guitar skills. That is why I am a protégée of my mom.

IF I FOUND A ROCK

IF I FOUND A ROCK…
Once, I found a rock on the side of a road. It was very interesting. The shape of a small animal skeleton was inside the rock. I decided to take it home to do some research. When I got home, I went to my lab. I put the rock on the counter and took out my utensils: a flashlight, some magnets, a penny, a nail, and a pencil. Those utensils were for testing the rocks properties: hardness, shape, color, feel, magnetism, luster, smell, and light. After doing some research, I found out that the rock was a sedimentary rock with a fossil of a fish inside it. Now that I know what type of rock it is, it is time to discover the properties of the rock.
First, I got some paper and drew a picture of the rock. Then, I felt the rock all around to see what it felt like. It was sort of bumpy in some places, and in other places of the rock, it was smooth. It also felt cold from being out in the freezing cold weather. After that, I looked at it and studied its color. It was a grayish black and the shape of the skeleton was sort of white. Then I brought it up to my nose and smelled it. It didn’t really have a smell, except that outdoorsy smell that things sometimes smell like after being outside for a really long time. Next, I got my flashlight. I took the rock and tried to shine the light through the rock. It did not shine through, so there was no light. Then, I switched the lights off and shone the flashlight on my rock. It had no luster. Soon afterwards, I tried to scratch the rock with a penny, and I didn’t have any luck. I did the same thing with the nail to it, and it didn’t work, so it was a really hard rock. Finally, I took the magnets and tried to put them on to the rock. The rock was not magnetic, so it didn’t work. Now that is how I discovered the properties of my rock.

Wenny Has Wings

Wenny Has Wings
Wenny has Wings is an excellent book!!! The author is Janet Lee Cary. Will North is not a normal kid: a dead sister, grieving parents who act like Will isn’t there, and a broken leg (that gets wet and has to be re bandaged). Besides that, he has an odd remembrance of his death- he died in the car crash with Wenny, but came back to life afterwards in the hospital. Will wonders if there is a life after death. Based on his experience, maybe there is.
Wenny has Wings has a very realistic and normal setting. It takes place somewhere in England. The year is 2006. Some places that Will goes are: the way up high happy place, where he meets the “light person”; the challenging Tunnel of Death, where he and his friend Gallagher try to find Wenny; the woods, where the friends celebrate Wenny’s birthday anniversary; and his tree house, where he finally reveals how he thought that his dad wanted him to die instead of Wenny. Wenny has Wings is an excellent book: a unique life after death story and the best book ever=http://!!!

Mia Hamm
If I could ever meet a famous person that is still alive, I would want to meet Mia Hamm. I would want to meet her because she is a really good soccer player and I like soccer a lot. I would also like to watch her play soccer up close. I would probably learn a lot from it and watching a famous soccer player would just be totally cool! I think it would be really cool to be a famous woman soccer player and I look up to her. It would be cool to be just like her when I grow up! That is why I would want to meet Mia Hamm.

My favorite food is shrimp linguini for many reasons. First of all, it tastes delicious, especially when it is homemade. The buttery noodles, the juicy shrimp- it all tastes really good! Secondly, it looks very appetizing. The pale yellow noodles, the tiny pink shrimp and seasonings on top looks really tasty. Lastly, when you pick it up, you know you just have to try it. These slippery noodles I know no one could resist! Now you know why my favorite food is shrimp linguini!

The End is a fiction book about helping one another and bravery. It takes place on a coastal shelf. The main characters are Sunny, Klaus, and Violet Bauldilair. Their major problem was Count Olaf. The Bauldilairs try to solve the problem by abandoning Count Olaf on the coastal shelf and living on an island far away from the treachery of the world. I like this book because it is funny, exciting, and adventurous. I think someone would like this book because there is a whole series to read. I hope you enjoy The End as much as I have!
