We have been having a relief teacher and her name is Miss Sayers. I really like having Miss Sayers but I really want Mrs Lowe back so I really don't know which one I would rather have. We have had Miss Sayers for about 3 weeks now and I think that is really cool because she is really nice. Some days Miss Sayers has to go to another school and teach but she is really mostly at our school. Each morning we do energisers for work and they are really fun. Sometimes Miss Sayers does sport with us instead of Mr J doing it. It is good because Mrs Lowe is back now.

Should Children Be Banned From Excursions?

Do you actually think that children should be banned from going on excursions? Well I don’t. Anyway my reasons are children can learn more about the place, you can get better exercise from walking and you can get a break from sitting in the classroom everyday.
My most important reason is that you can get learn from the place you go to. So when you come to school and do an activity from it ever than you can say that you know heaps of information from it. They will also be very surprised of how much you know.
My next reason is that you can get better exercise from all the walking you do. So try and get healthy and do some exercise for a change. When your parents find out they will be very pleased that you have been doing exercise.
Last but not least is, do you want to just be sitting in the classroom every day? Well I certainly don’t. You should get a change and get out of the classroom. Learn something new.
On the other hand you would have to pay to go on excursions. I don’t think your parents would be wanting to be paying to go on excursions all the time especially if you go on a lot of excursions.
In conclusion my reasons are that you can learn from the place, you can get better exercise because you will be walking a lot and also you should be getting a break from just sitting in your classroom everyday. I hope you like my reasons why we should have excursions and you start to think about those reasons. You should think about the children that are having trouble with work.

Autobiography of An Old Toy

One day a girl came and saw me sitting on a shelf in a toy shop. I was a white, fluffy bear. The girl was begging her mum to get me. Finally her mum said yes. There was actually only one of my type left. I was so bored just sitting on the shelf for such a long time and now I was happy to be somewhere new. Then the girl saw this other bear and then she wasn’t sure which one to get but her mum said “No just get the bear! because it is cheaper”. I was so relieved! Then I went into a car and the girl was hugging me so tightly that she was choking me a bit.
I went to the girl’s home and it was so beautiful and because it was so beautiful I wanted to faint. When I got inside the house, the girl said that her Chelsea and she named me Lucy, I loved my name and my new home.
The next day I woke up and Chelsea was trying to get ready to go to school, but her mum was also helping her. I wondered why Chelsea was getting ready so fast and then I heard her mum say “Quickly, we are going to be late for school”. Then Chelsea picked me up and ran to the car because it was raining.
When we got to school we did Show and Tell. Chelsea showed me to everyone and everyone said that I was stupid and Chelsea was as well. I didn’t think that is was very nice. Then, as Chelsea was speaking, people started throwing pieces of paper that were scrunched up and starting chanting, “Boring!” The teacher finally told them to stop. Chelsea ran outside and started crying. Chelsea hugged me so tightly that she was chocking me.
The next morning we didn’t have to go to school because it was a public holiday. A bit later I went outside with Chelsea but then Ruffy the dog took me out of Chelsea’s hands and I fell on the ground. Ruffy started running after me and I started running as well. Then Chelsea realised that I could run and talk because I was saying “Help!” Chelsea tried to help me. Five minutes later, Chelsea finally got me. I was exhausted after that so I just lay in Chelsea’s hands, not moving.
The next day we went to school and we had to pretend that we went on a holiday and we also had groups. Chelsea was with her friend Sammy and we decided to go to Paris. We pretended that we went in this hotel and there was a balcony in our room and there was a double bed with a TV right in front of it. There was a big bathroom which had a shower, sink and a spa. Then we went to the Eiffel Tower and it was really cool. We also looked at some other places too.
The most exciting thing that happened was that I went with this other bear that was called Tom and we went to the movies. During Paris of the movie we got bored and because there wasn’t anybody else there, we started to play chasey and it was really great fun.
A few days later Chelsea found one of her other toys in her toy box that she hadn’t been able to find for ages. She had been looking for it everywhere. It was a brown, fluffy bear. Then she started to remember all the good times that I had with Chelsea and it made me feel sad. One day Chelsea held the other bear and I but then she just threw me on the couch and was hugging the other bear really tightly. She started to think about what the brown bear’s name was and she remembered that it was Hazel. Then Chelsea was really happy. Suddenly she realised that she had forgotten all about me and she looked for me everywhere. Then she spotted me lying on the couch and she hugged us both tightly. I had not been forgotten after all.

On Tuesday 23rd September we did a course called Star Relay. My partner was Cienna. We started near the tennis court. Once again we guessed where the triangle was and Guinevere and Chelsea were the closest. After that we got started and I went first and Cienna went second.
Later when I was running, there was sand there and I fell over. I know I didn’t obey the rules but there was another reason and it was that I didn’t have any grip on my shoes. I just kept on running and when I was running it really stinged. The bad thing was that I couldn’t find it and it was worse that I fell over. I had to ask a few people and finally I found it.
Because we finished we got to do speedo but this speedo was the same but Cienna went first and I went second. We didn’t get to finish all of it but some people did.
When Mrs Post and Mrs Lowe told all of us to come and sit down Mrs Post read out who came first and all the way down to four. All of them got a prize.

On Wednesday 3rd August a man called Chad came to our
school. He performed in the undercover area. At the start while we were waiting for the kindy’s to come, he did heaps of yoyo tricks for us and they were really cool.
The countries Chad had performed in are America, England, Canada and Australia. Last year when he performed at another school he performed in front of 2.2 million Children. ‘NED‘ stands for Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best.
Chad talked about ‘NED‘ having a bad attitude because he didn’t want to come to our school. Chad said that Mrs M’kay talked to ‘NED’. ‘NED‘ isn’t actually a real person he is just are cardboard cut out with a picture with a boy.
Chad asked some questions and Elizabeth, Isla, Davis and Tyson answered them. But Chad thought Elizabeth was the best answer was the best so he gave Elizabeth a ‘Brain Firework’. A balloon firework is a balloon crown. She also got a Boomerang yoyo with a clip on it. A message that Chad had for us was to persevere, be positive, change your attitude and don’t be a bully.
The tricks that Chad showed us were ‘Walk the dog’, ‘Drag the cat’, ‘ Rock the baby‘ and Around the world and the picture he made with the string were Union Jack, Eiffel tower and St George’s Cross.
The prices of the yoyos are $8, $14, $19. My favourite yoyo is the Boomerang yoyo but I’m not sure which colour to get.
I really enjoyed The ‘NED‘ Show because Chad can do really cool tricks that I could definitely not do without reading the instructions. I would definitely love to watch it again and learn tricks from Chad. I also learn a lot from Chad and he was really funny.

Walking in Sarita's Shoes

On 1st of September a lady named Naomi from World Vision and she came and told us a story about Sarita. First we watched a DVD about Sarita’s life and Sarita once went to school but then she had to help her mum with the jobs. If I couldn’t be able to read then the things that would effect me would be that if there was be a sign somewhere and you needed to read it then it might be a warning. My second reason is that you wouldn’t be able to read books and it might be a recipe to cook something and my third reason is that you wouldn’t be able to understand words.
You might think that school is boring and it would be really cool if you didn't go to school but it isn't actually cool because you wouldn't be able to read or be able to maths or other thing and that would be really sad.
The meals I had on the day were Breakfast- crumpets, strawberries and water.
Recess- olives, strawberries and tomatoes.
Lunch- a poppy seed roll with vegemite and butter with polony on the side.
Afternoon Tea- roll up, popcorn, apples and pineapple juice.
Dinner- nuggets with chips and peas. But we are really lucky because all Sarita has is rice and its hard to share it out. You also wouldn't get enough each day.
I have eight tapes in my house. But Sarita has like no tapes and it might also be dirty water.
If I could have one toy or game out of my toys I would choose a mac book or a netball with a netball hoop to play with. Sarita has knuckle bones to play with ad thats all. But we have a lot of stuff to play with so we are really lucky.
If I was in a small space I would imagine it would be really squishy and because it is such a small space you could accidentally trip people over. Imagine Sarita in a small space. That wouldn't be very good would it?
I would feel sad if I had to live like Sarita because I would be poor and I wouldn’t be able to buy anything. To help Sarita and her family I would give them some of my things.
Naomi showed us two drinks and one was water and another was dirty water and Karl came up and Naomi asked him if he would rather the water or the other drink and he said the water. Karl tried the other drink and he said it was disgusting and it tasted like doe. Some people that were sitting at the front got to smell it and they said it smelt disgusting. Sadly Sarita has to walk everyday to the lake and bring it back and it would be really dirty water.
I thought that it was quit interesting and I learnt a lot. I think I would love Naomi to come again.

The First Day of Orienteering

On Tuesday 16 August we did orienteering. The lady’s name is Mrs Post and she is really nice. At first we had to watch a movie of two people doing orienteering. In the middle of it it showed what bits of the map were. After that we got to choose our partners but we had to be with a year4 and a year5 and my partner was Ellen. After that we chose where we thought the triangle, Jemma and Tolga won and they got a pass for orienteering.
Next we lined up in a line and the first people on each end went when Mrs Post said go and the people on the end of the line started at the end and the people on the front of the line started at the start. Ellen and I started at HK and went all the way to HA. Sometimes when we just finished one Keeley and Qian asked us if we new where one of them were and we told them. A little bit later Keeley and Qian asked again but we didn’t mind and once we asked them because they went straight past it.
After we both finished we got to do speedo but we only got to do about 2 or 3.
