In the book Andrea goes the Tunnels which are in Moose Jaw were she is forced to go to for her Cousin Vanessa’s wedding. While her family is at the restaurant they are given a quick 2 minute tour of the tunnels. Andrea doesn’t listen to Mr. Saunders the restaurant manager. So Andrea bolts into the tunnel and crashes into a mirror and is knocked and she thinks she is gone back in time to the 1920’s. When she wakes up in the past someone or something is pulling her deeper into the tunnel. The strange thing pulling her turns out to be a young man. He introduces himself to Andrea by the name of Vance. Andrea tells him she is a boy and her name is Andy. Then Vance takes her to the Train Station and tell her to meet him in the men’s room then they pick some guys up and drop them off then Vance shows Andrea how to get around the tunnels. He tells her that the job pays well but you need guts. So Andy and Vance go to the Four Star Café Vance tells Andy not to run into the tunnels but Andrea doesn’t listen again and runs into the tunnels and meets Old Scarface.. Old Scarface is a mean looking man and has a huge scar down his face. The manager comes down the stairs and tells them there’s going to be a raid at Scotty’s Shoe store so Scarface shoves Andrea into a tunnel that is small. He tells her if she doesn’t get there before the cops or she’ll be in trouble. So she ran down the tunnel and made it to Scotty’s before the cops she told them that the cops were on there was over. So some people help hide everyone behind a huge cupboard called an Armoire. When the cops were gone all the people come out and Andrea went back to the Four Star Café with a message for Old Scarface. When she got to the café she told Scarface that Rosie wanted to see him at their usual place. So Scarface sent Vance to Scotty’s to take Rosie to at the Hazelton Hotel to meet Scarface. So Vance left and Andrea was left to take Scarface to the Hazelton on there way over a gust of wind blew through the tunnel and made some of the lanterns go out Andrea screamed and Scarface found out she was a girl. So Andrea told him her real name! Scarface led the rest of the way to the Hazelton when they got there Rosie was already there. Then Andrea left them alone while she went to find Vance. She found him and then he told her they had a job at the Train station so that’s were they went next. So Andrea was lest alone in a storage closet while Vance went to get the people they had to deliver too the Imperial Hotel. While Vance was gone Andrea had company in the storage closet but the people that came in didn’t know she was in the closet. The people that came in were Joe from Scotty’s [he was Scotty’s friend he told Andrea that Rosie wanted to meet Scarface at the Hazelton] and a police officer. Andrea over heard their conversation in the conversation between the officer and Joe she heard Joe saying that Scarface was at the Hazelton Tonight so the cop said he would have some of his men start a RAID there. A few minutes later they ended their conversation and Andrea was left alone then Vance came and told her he would meet her later but she had to take these guys to the Imperial hotel then she was done so she took the guys half way till they came to a place were there was a little earthquake and some dirt blocked the path Andrea kept thinking about what would be happening at the Hazelton at 11pm. So Andrea ditched the 2 guys and rushed to the Hazelton to warn Big Al aka Scarface. When she got there Big Al said what’s happening the Raid had already started upstairs Big Al moved another Armoire and Rosie, Big Al and Andrea got in behind. They slipped away through a crack that was in the wall Big Al thanked Andrea as they walk down the tunnel soon they met up with Vance who took Rosie home. Andrea was supposed to take Big Al to the Train Station but he went back to the Four Stars. He told Andrea to come to the Tunnels in the morning or else he would go looking for her. Andrea went to meet Vance then they would go to his house for the night. As she past the Tunnel that was called the Forbidden tunnel Andrea heard a noise she thought it was a ghost. So Andrea went in the forbidden tunnel it was the tunnel Vance had used to take Rosie home it was under Big Al’s command. As Andrea went farter and farther the noise got louder and louder soon she found out the noise was Vance he had gotten beat up by Big Al’s Gangster friends. Andrea helped him get up and go through a bunch of different passage ways and when they got through a big heavy door they went to a huge house and went through the front door and up some stairs then they got to a door and knocked on it. It was Rosie’s house they went in and Andrea made a fool of herself in front of them both. Then Vance said that he lost his coins in the Tunnel and Rosie demanded that Andrea went in and get them. Andrea went in and collected all the coins then she had to hide in a barrel because there were some guys looking for her then she final got to the door and through a stick and 3 men went running to see what it was there was her chance to escape. She got half way down the tunnel when the men started after her. She got through the doors and into the apartment fast. The men went around the house then gave up and went to the house across the street. After that Andrea and Vance went out the window in the lower floor. They ran across the park to get to Vance’s house when they got there Andrea was introduced to a little girl named Beanie. The Beanie talked made Andrea think she was a grown up. About 2-3hours later Beanie took off to get Scarface for what he had done to Vance. Vance told Andrea to go to Rosie’s and check there so she went and got Rosie and they looked round her place then they checked out the basement and Beanie was there. Beanie had been trying to move an armoire because she new that the tunnels were behind it. While this happened Andrea was thinking up a plan then she got it her and Rosie would go get 2 cases of empty booze bottle’s and spread them around the house across the street were Old Scarface and some of his gangster friends were playing poke. Andrea and Rosie would need to be fast because it was almost sun up. After they got the 2 cases Andrea put on an old Halloween costume and went to spread the bottles. When she was done she ditched the costume behind the Hazleton then took off to Vance’s when she got back she went to bed for 6-7 hours then she went to sit on the balcony by Vance she was sitting there when she remembered what Old Scarface had said to her about meeting him in the tunnels so she went into the tunnels and when she was walking the men she was to take to the Imperial hotel showed up and scared her so she started to run and when she got close to the Four Star café she for got about the pole in the middle of the tunnel and into it when she awoke she was on the floor of the café. To her surprise her family was standing over her she went around hugging everyone and she had to use the facilities so she got her Aunt Bea to take her when she got there Rosie was there but she was ay older and in a wheel chair then Andrea realized that Aunt Bea was Beanie and Grandpa Talbot was Vance.
