Edward thinks that the serial murders have been done by a pack of Vampires. When Bella and Edward reach his house, Jasper shows her that he has scars just like the scar on Bella's hand, but they are all over him. He tells Bella the story of his upbringing. Jasper was born in Houston, Texas in 1844. He joined the army in 1861, when he was seventeen. He met three female vampires while serving in the army, and they changed him. He was now part of another army, one made up entirely of newborn vampires. He and his army fought many battles, and that is how he got the many scars all over his body. After Jasper finished his everyone started debating on who had entered Bella's room. They found out it was another army of newborn vampires, and then debate whether they should fight them. The next day, Bella decides to visit Jacob, and Edward agrees. Jacob says he has to tell Bella something. He says that he is in love with her! And then, Jacob kisses Bella against her will, and Bella punches him in the face. But, instead of him getting hurt, Bella breaks her fist. After Jacob drops Bella home, she calls Edward and he comes to pick her up. Dr. Cullen looks at Bella's hand and makes her wear a brace. On graduation day, Alice gives Bella something to wear because the vampires who were in her room took most of her clothes. They realize that the vampires in Seattle were the SAME ones who took Bella's clothes.
