What is water pollution?
Water pollution occurs when waste products or other substances change the physical thermal, chemicals or biological characteristics of the water, adversely affecting living species and reducing the water’s beneficial uses.
What are some of the sources of water pollution?
Physical thermal, chemicals or biological characteristics are some sources of water pollution. After the water has becomes polluted we should dispose our toxic substances

What are some consequences of water pollution?
All the garbage from people littering can get washed down to the ocean making animals sick and they can die. Also the ocean can flood the earth by being over flowed. When people dump their garbage in the ocean animals such as fish, birds, and more die or suffer from water pollution from human’s filth like plastic, medal, and Styrofoam.
What can be done to improve the quality of water for becoming polluted?
Solutions involve finding sustainable ways of the urban area are to reduce both its dependence on pollutants and the pollutants it produces and to properly recycle or dispose of pollutants before they contaminate soil, water, or air.
What are some actions that can be taken to help prevent water from becoming polluted?
By reducing fertilizers being applied to fields and was residential lawn, we can reduce the potentials for nitrates entering into local watercourses after rainstorms tile draining sources could be placed deeper into soil there by reducing the chances that nitrates will be carried into them.
What are nitrates and how do they get into our water supply?

What is considered to be the safe level of nitrates in drinking water?
19.8% is mostly found in drinking water.
What can be done to help prevent nitrates from entering our water supply?
We can put purifying tablets into the creeks and pipes so it won’t have any effect on fish. They have to be educated to show kids where the waste should go. It is also community relations.
What should a person do if there are high nitrate levels in their water supply?
They could purify the water, drink fresh tap water or boil it. Tile drainage systems could be placed deeper into the soil there by reducing the chance that nitrates will be carried into them.
