Planets Planets are cool. They are big, small, HUGE, medium and they all have different characteristics.

Mercury- It is the closest planet to the Sun but isn't the hottest. Its 2.54 times smaller than Earth.

Venus- It's the hottest planet in the Solar System. It is almost the same size as Earth.

Earth- Is the only planet with known life on it. It has a strong magnetic field with a thick atmosphere and oxygen for life.

Mars- It is pure rock but it shows signs that it used to have it's own magnetic field. If that is true, then it might have supported life.

Asteroids- in between Mars and Jupiter there is a asteroid belt. No one knows how it got there but there are theories.
