New Year, New Friends, New Goals
Our first day of grade one. What an exciting day! In between sorting supplies and meeting new friends, we took some time to talk about what things we might learn this year and what goals we might make for the year. To help us think about what we might learn, we talked via Skype to some "experts" about what they learned in grade one. We talked to Cindi Crandall, a grade one teacher in California and to Rodney Turner's grade four class in Glendale, Arizona. We also talked to Zoe Branigan-Pipe in Hamilton, Ontario, who read us the poem Captain Hook by Shel Silverstein before she told us about what she remembers learning in grade one.
