Skills for the 21st Century

It is obviously the case that educators need to prepare their students for a fast-paced, culturally diverse, technological world.  After looking at a  variety of  academic sources and consulting with my Department Chairs, we, as a staff, came up with the following list of skills that will be taught in our classes: thinking critically, thinking creatively (special emphasis on this), appreciation for the arts, manage complexity/problem solving, communicate effectively, integrate technology, manage time effectively, promote teamwork, and develop character

In order for something like this to be successful, I need to regularly follow-up with faculty to ensure that they are teaching these skills.  There needs to be further Faculty and Department Chair meetings on this also.  Department Chairs need to monitor their teachers to ensure that they are teaching these skills also.
