Year In Review Essay

This year was the best ever, no question about it. Mr. Meyer introduced me to many new things and he let us live by one modo: Work Hard, Play Hard. We worked and got farther than any other year ever has. We got to play, for example, we got to play at the park for a while yesterday instead of doing math.
One of the most fun and most informational thing was survivor. I did not make it that far but it told us that life gives you fast balls and you really learn to bond with people. You also learn your strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes academics even involves you in survivor. If you get bad grades, you are likely to get voted off.
I also learned how hard life is. We had a lot of work. We had 36 chapters of spelling, 496 pages of math bookwork, who knows how much paperwork, about 300 definitions, and much, much more.
I learned to be a better person and probably got smarter than preschool through 4th grade all put together. I had to learn to be quiet, otherwise you will get voted off... It is like, if your mouth goes off in a meeting, you will probably get fired.
We also learned about other people and their differences. It was better in all the years because got prepared for 6th grade and it was more fun than any other year.
Many things taught us lessons. The Egg Citing Egg Speriment taught us responsibility and that we have to take care of things in life. Survivor taught us Determination. You have to stick with things in your life. The “tied up in knots” taught us Teamwork, and sometimes we have to do things with other people and not just by ourselves. When we went to the MACUL conference, only a few people got to go. It taught us responsibility and that we have to take action for things.
He makes us meet new people by randomly making tribes, and doing peer editing. It was actually good for us to meet new people, even if we do not like them, just like you will in real life. You also get a lot of privileges if you prove yourself. He tells us that if we work hard, we will get rewarded... and he did not lie.
He also shows us great, funny, and entertaining pictures of his past years and with his son and daughter. He really showed us what nice people are like, and he is one of them.
My favorite part of the year is the end. It is fun wrapping up, making slideshows, and saying goodbye. Summer is fun and good to look up to, but leaving this year is going to be tough. I am glad that I got Mr. Meyer because he has taught us many things and prepared us for 6th grade.
