Welcome back boys and girls! I do hope you had a restful Spring break. We have a great deal of work to accomplish over the next several weeks. One of the projects that we have started in Science is our design of Eco-Villages that we will be finishing up. In Social Studies we will begin studying the Causes of the American Revolution. In Writer's Workshop we will revisit S.T.A.R. in order to help us revise our work.
What does S.T.A.R. stand for? Leave your answer in the comment section of this blog post.
Also, I would like for you to take sometime to write a blog post telling us what you did over Spring Break. You are welcome to focus in on one event or give us a summary of your time. I will expect that you use all the tools effective writers use in your posts.
If you would like to insert a hyperlink to a place you have visited that would help your readers get a better understanding of your Spring Break adventures. However, do be mindful of not giving out personal information.

Spring Break was a wonderful opportunity for our family to come together. Althougth I worked at my landscaping job for much of the time, we still found moments where we went to the park, rode our bikes until our legs burned, and hiked around waterfalls.
My kids are so excited when they get to the park, almost as if it were Disney Land. As soon as the van door opens they are off and running looking for the first obstacle they will attack. Gavin of course, heads straight for the tallest slide there is and seems to make many friends on his way to its summit. Amelia on the otherhand would like nothing better than spending her day slowly going back and forth in the swing.
Gavin, breathing heavy after running over to the swings next to his sister, said, "Help me in to the swing daddy." I raised him into the fantastic contraption and of course helped him build his momentum. My wife and I were enjoying the day with the sun on our face and having quality time at the park when I looked over and noticed Gavin and Amelia trying to hold hands while swinging. My heart melted and at the exact moment felt as much love as a proud daddy could feel. Even though we didn't travel to far off distant lands it's moments like these that made Spring break memorable for me.
