 Compare and Contrast First let's start with Blood Diamond. Blood Diamond has huge scenes of war, fighting, killing, blood and death. Soloman's son was taken by the R.U.F and trained to become a child soldier. Later having found him Tifa has had a changed personality, when he found him Tifa hated him. This movie as you may guess is about diamonds and what some people in Africa do to get them for the western world. Some people may have remembered this from watching Blood Diamond, there was a part where the main character had a girl and she said "Hey I'm AIDs-free!" White people relax at the hotel and the black people have to work for them. Now it is on to Chanda's Secrets. This book mainly refers to HIV and AIDs. Many people die, but usually only from that disease. In the book when the mom left, Iris had started to hate Chanda and even ran away. Chanda`s mom received blood money because her husband and son had died in a DIAMOND mine. Esther wants to go to a rich country that way she would have a less miserable life in Africa. Esther wants to reunite with her brothers and sisters. Now I will compare and contrast between the two subjects. Tifa hated Soloman when he first met him in an R.U.F camp and so did Iris when her mom left she started hating Chanda. The movie Blood Diamond has the same connection as blood money. In Blood Diamond they had 1 person that mentioned AIDs, in Chanda`s Secrets it was entirely about it. In Blood Diamond many, many people die because of war, but in Chanda`s Secrets there was no mention of a war yet many people had died because of AIDs. Esther wants to go find her brothers and sisters; Solomen wants to find his son, baby and wife. Both of them take place in Africa. In conclusion, there are many similarities between Blood Diamond and Chanda`s secrets and also there are many differences too. It just goes to show you that a movie and a book can be related.
