Alone Sometimes when I'm in the car with my parents, I see little or nearly big children out on the sidewalk or running across the streets. I think, "Why aren't they with their parents?" I asked the
question to my mother and was shocked when she said that some were abandoned or rejected. Sometimes I ask myself, "Why do people do such a cruel thing?!" And I find the answer
myself, "Because they are crazy."

That IS really sad. I think you are right when you say that the parents are crazy. But maybe the children were rejected because the parents couldn't pay the bills or couldn't put food on the table for their child. We don't know their reasons.
