Sign of the Beaver Compare and Contrast Essay . I am 20 Giant Fan. This week in my class we finished the book “Sign of the Beaver.” It was a great book! Then we watch the movie of the book. It was called “Keeping the Promise.” When I saw the movie I said to my self “Wow! This movie is way different then the book.” So the next day my teacher told us to make a blog to compare and contrast about the movie and the book. I was very happy! I came up with a lot of things to say in this blog/essay. This is what I said.

In the book and the movie their were a lot of differences and similarities. First, in the movie the character, “Ben” had a huge part, but in the book, he got a very small part. In the movie he took Matt’s gun, but then started to surrender and be nice, but in the book he took the gun and never gave it back and that was the only part he was in. In the movie there was a new character. He was a uncle. In the book, there was no uncle. The movie showed more of the family then Matt. In the book they showed more of Matt then the family. Something that was both in the book in the movie was that one of the characters, which was the baby, dies of a fever.

The setting was a big part of the book and the movie. On one hand, in the book the setting of the lake was an hour away, but on the other hand in the movie the lake was right next to their family’s house. Another thing about setting is that in the movie, there was a ship setting and a setting where they were at there old home in Springfield, Mass., but in the book there was no setting like that. One thing that the setting is the same is that in the book and the movie they had them going in Atten’s tribe setting and met all of the Indians.
My last thing is the character traits were very different in the book and the movie. One character trait that is different is that in the book Ben was nicer, but on the other hand in the movie he was SO MUCH MEANIER! Another trait that is different is that Saknis in the book was not watching the lessons that Matt thought Atten, but in the movie Saknis watch the lesson. That shows that Saknis did not trust Matt in the movie as much in the book. One thing that is that same is Matt’s traits are always the same in the book and in the movie. He is always kind to the Indians and he always never disobeys the Indians and Atten.

Wow! I never realized this. The book and the movie have many differences and also many things that are the same. So, in conclusion I just want to say “there are some many ways to compare and contrast those 2 sources.”
