Arbor Day Blog Trees grow high like what it says on the proverb but the part with, “the falling leaves return to the roots,” may mean that the leaves fall, and decompose to make the tree grow even healthier that’s why it says, “return to the roots.” Trees help hold together the soil and keep it moist and healthy.
