The CS Elementary School 4th graders went on a field trip to the Franklin Institute yesterday , on October 23rd , 2008. The kids ran up the steps , eager to learn about and explore the museum.
They were mainly going to see the pirate exhibit because they were studying explorers in school. In the exhibit, there were 2 simulations. One being the storm that caused a pirate ship called the Whydah to sink, and the other being an under the sea simulation. In addition to that, there was a short movie that some of the children got to watch. Not all of the kids were able to watch it because of some minor technical difficulties. Their teacher’s gave them packets with stuff to find in the exhibit . Not only did they see the pirates, but they went to see other things too. Most of the 4th graders loved the “Big Heart”- even though it smelled and was overly crowded! Also they were interested in the space part of the museum.
The CS kids had a lot of fun! They all agree that it was an enjoyable experience and would like to visit again.
