volcanoes In these paragraphs you can learn a lot about volcanoes. What they are. How they erupt. What happens when it erupts. Now you know what are in these paragraphs.

This is what volcanoes are made out of and have. Outside of a volcano lava is called lava, inside of a volcano it’s called magma. There are places called vents on the sides of volcanoes. The rock that we live on is called crust, so when the crust moves together it makes a volcano. Now you know what a volcano is.

Do you know how volcanoes erupt? Magma has gas in it, so when the gas builds up and has nowhere to go, it erupts. When lava comes out it might make the volcano bigger. Walnut size rocks that fly out of a volcano are called “lapilli”. Now you know how a volcano erupts.

Do you know what happens when a volcano erupts? When an underwater volcano erupts it makes a volcanic island. When a volcano erupts its lava can move as fast as 40 mph. They blow up lava too. Now you know what happens when a volcano erupts.

Did you know that there are three kinds of volcanoes? Strato volcanoes are cone shaped. Shield volcanoes are formed from quiet eruptions. Cinder cone volcanoes are formed from explosive eruptions. Now you know that there are three kinds of volcanoes.

Do you know what the Ring of Fire is? They’re the volcanoes that surround the Pacific Ocean. There are over 800 active volcanoes on the earth's crust. Some are quiet, active, and some don’t even erupt. Now you know what the Ring of Fire is.

These are some facts about volcanoes. Did you know that Crater Lake was formed 7,000 years ago when Mount Mazama in Oregon erupted. Crater Lake is the deepest in North America. Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines was a bad site of the twentieth century. Volcanoes are cool!

Now you know what a volcano is, how it erupts , and what happens when it erupts. Here’s some facts you just read. Outside of the volcano lava called lava inside its called magma. Magma has gas in it so when the gas builds up and has nowhere to go it erupts. When under water volcanoes erupt it makes a volcanic island. I hope you learned a lot about volcanoes.
