Fun With Maple Syrup
On Friday, the KinderKids went to Mrs. Knee's house to learn more about making maple syrup. We read books during the week to help us learn how maple syrup is made. We went to Mrs. Knee's house to see the trees, spigots, buckets and the sugar house. Before leaving, we had a special treat of sugar on snow. Back at school we had a pancake lunch with maple syrup.
We hope that our Australian friends in Mrs. M's class will learn about making syrup from our voice thread.
You can also read the student blogs to learn more about our visit to Mrs. Knee's house.

I have maple syrup on my weetbix every morning. I wish I could see a maple tree one day!

I love maple syrup we have it on pancakes here and I didn't know it came from a tree. I wish that we could be where you are as I love the snow - where we are we don't have snow.

Hi Kinderkids!
I had such a great time going to Mrs. Knee's house with you to learn about how maple syrup is made. Boy was it cold but you all had so much fun and no one complained about the weather. I especially loved eating the sugar on snow, what a nice 'welcome to spring treat!' I think It is cool to know how much work goes into a gallon of syrup, it makes me appreciate living in New Hampshire! We all certainly had a great time!
