Welcome to the world of educational blogging!
http://itc.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/celebration6_3.jpg Welcome to our class blog. Blogs give us an easy way to write about what we are learning in class. We'll start small and see where the journey leads us. We will use this blog to share our reading, writing, thinking, and learning. It's our space to tell what learning means to us. It's our space to ask questions. it's our space to respond. It's our space to learn from each other and the world!
This is our opportunity to model the process for others and show how students can be responsible and make appropriate educational use of the internet. Many people think that students will not be responsible and are unable to be trusted to build these types of models. We will prove them wrong.
Let's start off by introducing ourselves through the commenting feature of this blog! Make a brief introduction so we can all get to know each other better. Use first names only.
Commenting is easy. Click 'Add a comment' at the bottom of this post. It will ask for your name, email, and the URL of your blog. You can just leave the last part blank. There will be a little text box for you to introduce yourself. Then it will ask you to copy some letters and #'s that are in a box. This is a spam preventer precaution. Then you click submit. Have fun!

I teach 8th grade ESL at Griffin Middle school. 8th grade is an important year in the life of middle schoolers - they have to take a writing test and pass reading/math CRCT to get to High School. I am looking forward to using Blogging to help my students get to High School.

Wow! This is exciting. I really didn't know what was involved, but slowlythe my understanding is growing as to the expansiveness of this tool, and the impact it may have on my students is tremendous and can be completely engagingfor my students!

I'm excited to get this working in my American Literature classroom! I've tried some activities, but never been able to get it fully working in my class. This workshop should give me the tools to do so!

I resisted blogging initially, because it was so pervasive it bored me. But then I became aware of the creative possibilities that blogging offers, and now I'm sold!

I have been utilizing blogs in the classroom with my students and have also created a blog for ESOL and foreign language teachers. I have found blogging to be an excellent way to share information with students, teachers, parents and the community.
