Emma's Extravagant Blog

This blog is for Miss Jovanovich's algebra and geometry classes to share ideas, ask questions, and reflect on what skills and topics we are studying. If we are lucky, we might even get a chance to connect with other students studying the same stuff.

SOH CAH TOA WOW! This year has flown by us. I can't believe that we have less than three weeks of school left! This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, which is the mark of the beginning of the summer season. This weekend, I am headed to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a soccer tournament. I am very excited, but sad at the same time because this is one of our last tournaments of this year. It is always sad when a season that you have enjoyed ends. On a separate note, we have started our trigonometry unit in class. This unit deals with sines, cosines, and tangents. Sine is opposite/hypotenuse, cosine is adjacent/hypotenuse, and tangent is opposite/adjacent. This may seem hard to remember, however there is an easier way; just think of SOH CAH TOA. This is an abbreviation for remembering these forumlas. Personally, I find this very helpful. It can sometimes be hard for me to remember formulas, so putting then into an abbreviation kind of format, it can be easier to remember. How do you remember things when you are studying?
