Love Story<33

Sing Out The song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift is a good example of an allusion towards the tale of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. In “Love Story” it says many things that remind me of Romeo and Juliet, not just by using their names but by using things that are related to the novel. In “Love Story” is says “On the balcony of summer air”. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because Romeo climbs up a tree to see Juliet, who is hanging off her balcony. In “Love Story” it also says “So I sneak out to the garden to see you; we keep quiet ‘cause we’re dead if they knew”. This line relates to Romeo and Juliet really well. Since Juliet isn’t allowed to see Romeo because he is a Montague, she snuck out of the house onto the balcony to see him. Both are good examples of how the play “Romeo and Juliet” and the song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift are connected. Also in “Love Story” by Taylor Swift it says “Romeo save me, they try to tell me how to feel; this love is difficult, but it’s real”. In “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Juliet’s parents tell her that she is going to marry Paris, when she really is in love with Romeo. Romeo and Juliet get married without her parents knowing, in “Love Story” it says “And said, marry me Juliet you’ll never have to be alone I love you and that’s all I really know”. These quotes from “Love Story” are also related to “Romeo and Juliet”. The song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift can connect to the novel “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare. In “Love Story” it uses Romeo and Juliet as examples of the play. “Love Story” and “Romeo and Juliet” relate in many ways.

Lexiiiiiii; I agree completely with your example of this allusion considering Romeo and Juliet cannot see eachother, and neither can the two people from this song! Great Job!
