We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. Food for snails Do snails have a preference of foods?

If they do do they prefer lettuce cheese meat or candy.

We will measure how many times a snail goes for a specific food namely 4 trials for each snail.

Record which food the snail goes for.

Candy, hot dog, lettuce, cheese, cardboard .

Prediction: Snails will prefer lettuce.

Step 1: Set up Cardboard x-shape

Step 2: Get cardboard wet

Step 3: Place foods in 4 sections of x

Step 4: Make data table.

Step 5: Place first in center.

Step 6: Record results for trial 1

Step 7: Repeat for snail 1 three more times and then do 4 trials with second snail. Make sure to record data.

Step 8: Report findings on blog
