For those of you finding your comments disappearing, I'm doing that to keep this conversation about making school a better place for everyone. I'm also interested in reading ideas that are based in reality.
So stretch your thinking and come up with ways to change school so that you are more motivated to learn and gain the skills you will need to be successful in life.
Areas that come to my mind are grading, assessment, schedules (like 50 minute periods everyday), recess, exercise (like PE), topics to study, using technology, face-to-face vs online learning. Things like that. How would you change any of those to make school more fun or relevant to you?

I would hack math class to make it interesting. I would also bring nap time back because I think in middle school you need it way more than you needed back in kindergarten.

About the Blogger
I started my teaching career in South Central Los Angeles teaching in modified to full bilingual 4th and 5th grade classes. Then I moved to WA State where I have taught mainly 6th through 8th grade. I have enjoyed the culture clash but notice that kids are the same everywhere :o)
My areas of interest are science and technology but I also love studying ancient cultures and learning about different peoples and cultures.
