Water (Poem)
Water
It splashes against my cheek as I stand on the dock
I tune in my ears to the pattern as my friends talk
It beats to a rhythm only nature could create
It’s language is old and wise, like it knows my fate
Every time a wave crashes to a halt on the sandy shore
Another wave takes it’s place, stronger than before
I watch the water rise and fall like a heart beat
The taste of the rain on my tongue cool and sweet
The wind of the storm whistles past my ears
I stand and watch as the storm disappears
