 #259-1863: Free Carrier Mail Service I have found some very interesting facts about the U.S. Post Office. I thought maybe you would like to hear them too. First, the United States Postal Service was founded in July 26, 1775. Benjamin Franklin was the first postmaster general. Their headquarters are currently based in Washington, D.C. The multicolored logo has been used ever since 1993. The USPS employs over 574,000 people and owns more than 218,000 vehicles! It's amazing how people run such a huge service.
