Want to share your story? Need to practice your writing? Enter our Adult Learners' Week Writing Contest!
As part of Adult Learners’ Week, the centre is hosting a writing contest as an opportunity to reflect on, share and celebrate your experiences as an adult learner. You are asked to respond to the following question: How has attending an adult learning centre affected your life?
Entries should be no more than 500 words and fully edited and revised for clarity of ideas. They will be judged based on ideas, writing skill (clarity and precision) and the impact of your writing. Entries can be submitted to the office at either McLeod or Transcona by Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 3:30 pm.
Our topic echoes that of the Starr Writers and Video contest hosted by ASEC for adult students across Manitoba, and we encourage students who are considering entering this contest to enter both. Last year one of our graduates won 3rd prize in the ASEC contest and shared her story in person at the October ASEC conference.
For details regarding the ASEC contest, see the English bulletin board across from room 5 at McLeod or visit the ASEC website below.
