First Day of 2013 School Year In New Zealand on PhotoPeach
The secret of good teaching is to regard the children's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination. Our aim therefore is not merely to make the children understand, and still less to force them to memorize, but so to touch their imagination as to enthuse them to their innermost core...

Stone Soup & Little Gardeners
We had a wonderful Thursday with Year 1 & Year 2 children working in the garden and preparing veggies for the story "Stone Soup" whilst our Year 3 & Year 4 had Athletics Day with the rest of Malfroy. That same day in the afternoon when all the class was back together, we invited Ms. Deer's class to join us for our story. We had so much left over in veggies after the story, I froze them to use on another soup Friday. We invited all family and friends to come on Friday and share with us. We will be having cooking activities with the children on Thursdays to be shared on Friday morning to which we invite all family and friends to join us starting around 8:30 to 9:00. This is an activity we have during the chillier months of the year. Please come in and enjoy the community atmosphere.
Wow, look at all your vegetables. Your school garden must be amazing. What a great time you must have had.

About the Blogger
I hold a Master's in Montessori and have been working in Montessori on many levels both in New Zealand and in the United States for over twenty-seven years. One of my greatest joys is working with children in the prepared environments and watching the lightbulbs go off when they grasped a concept for the first time. I know with the thousands of children and adults that I've worked with over the years, that our future will be in good hands with their many skillls and gifts they will bring to the world.
