We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. water quality blog This blog is about how chimacum creek is going.first D.O average this year 8.3.DO is dissolved oxegen if you didn't know.Next is P.H it stands for postive hydren.I don't remberwhat the average is sorry.Next is nitrates nitrigoin is on the air and is a gas.It can cause a sickness called methemogoblin.N2 is 78%of air.Next is turbidity average its in the 30's.plants can die if it there is high turbidity.Next is ammonia average is 2.8.Ammonia can be found in cleaning products.next is flow rate this years average is 1.3459 m3/s.and is measure.it is measured by a prob with a propller.next is temperture this years average is 33.5.It takes longer for deeper water to warm up.
