Poetic Effects Some tools that poets use in their poems to create effects could be beat, rythm, and expression. The beat could get someone excited about reading the poem or make them feel the sadness of the poem. Rythm makes poems fun to read because it gives you something to go along with, for example, if you have a poem and no words that ryme then it might not make it very fun to read. Expression gives poems excitment. When poets use expression it would make the reader use expression while reading it aloud.
