Poets Poets could use many literary terms to make the poem worth a lot. I enjoy poems with imagery, which is when poets use words that appeal to our five senses. I think imagery is important because then the readers could picture what the poet is trying to say. If the poem is trying to tell you how to be a role model, then you could picture how respected you would be. For example, if the line says, “The meadow was very magical, with the green grass, and the sun beaming on it." You could imagine a very beautiful image of a meadow in your head. Imagery is definitely one tool poets use to both entertain and motivate the reader.
