Welcome to Mr. Ullrich's Blog! This blog is for 8th Grade Earth Science and Physical Science students. We will learn topics such as Astronomy, Geology and Meteorology. This blog will give us a place to discuss, learn and develop these topics during the year. If you are not from our class please post lots of comments!
That seems to be the big question, and there are many debates in which some believe that humans are responsible for global warming, while some believe that they have no effect.
Well….a hard question there…
I believe that human activities is a main source of global warming. Ever since the industrial age started, with raving cars and factories, the climate’s temeperature has suddenly increased. The giving off of greenhouses gases, such as carbon dioxide has increased the amount of Every time you drive a car, carbon-rich auto exhaust enters the atmosphere. The use of jet fuel in plane travel also adds a great deal to your carbon dioxide. I believe that the number one cause of global warming is the burning of fossil fuels, which is one thing that humans are doing at this moment. Let’s use solar, wind and etc to fuel energy!!
Hey everyone! Thanks for your nice posts! Joshua and Lisa, you guys made good points! Anabel!! Start carpooling or something! LOL Kristen, you are correct, the ice cream is supposed to be the Earth. Bonnie, thanks for your agreement! Anushka, thanks for your point, but I don't get it. Where are you getting this information that the Earth has cooled ever since then! I mean, look at the weather now!! LOL Oh, and Crystal, that's okay! I still agree on my point! Hehe.... :)

Thanks for commenting on my blog Daniya! I agree that CO2 that humans are emitting cause dangers to our earth.

I'm really sorry dainya but I have to disagree. I mean, i don't believe global warming's main cause is human activity. However burning fossils fuels may contribute to it but not a lot

I really liked your post. You stated a lot of things humans do that might be the cause of Global warming like the burning of fossil fuels, driving a car etc: but you never gave factual evidence that proves that humans are the reason for global warming . The warmest year on earth was 1934 and it says that the temperature has cooled from then onward . But I thought it was a really good post and you really came across your point.

I agree that humans are the cause of global warming, but i think it's more of a possibility.

Daniya!!! it took me a while to figure out that picture ;) the ice cream cone is supposed to be the earth right?? i think the same thing, humans are definitely the biggest cause of global warming.

I like your earth ice cream picture. Earth is MELTING! Also, I still couldn't find someone who thought humans do not cause global warming at all so I'm commenting on people who I agree with. I say that humans cause global warming but I still go on an airplane like 6 times a year, for very long distance trips sometimes.. I also ride cars a lot. I live like two blocks from school but I still ride a car, and don't carpool with my neighbors, I have lots of neighbors from the middle school. But all of us go by ourselves in our own car. Sometimes I sleep with the light on... I should really start doing something to help.

I think even if the environment does have a natural effect on the climate, humans are at least partially responsible for global warming. It can't be entirely a coincidence that with industry and greenhouse gasses being emitted into the atmosphere, that the global temperature has risen.

We should plant trees, buy high-efficiency models of electronics, leave our car at home for a couple of days a week, and reduce, reuse, and recycle. Earth could look like Venus if we keep this up!

About the Blogger
Hey! My name is Daniya, and this year I'm taking the course Earth Science. I've always been fond of science, well not really D: However, so far Earth Science has been really interesting, and I finally understand why certain things happen, if that makes sense :) My favorite subject is math (yes, really), I love to read, and I love to play basketball, badminton, and volleyball. I love to listen to music, which helps me get through the day! I am looking forward to working with these blogs, and thanks for taking the time to read this! :)
