Hawiian Christmas

For my christmas blog I am doing Hawii! The traditional Christmas greeting in Hawii is "Mele Kalikimaka". The decorations on their tree symbolizes traditional Hawiian pastimes and wonders of Hawii. Poi balls are white balls on braided yarn used in New Zealand by women for dancing.  Most Christmas traditions practiced in Hawaii come from the traditions brought to the islands by the missionaries of the 19th century. One unique tradition is the Christmas luau, which features the Kalua pig as itain course. The poinsettia, which grows on the islands, is considered the Christmas flower. Kanakaloka is what their santa is called down in Hawaii. I wish my Christmas wasnt and was like this. I think they  enjoy their down there in Hawaii.
