If a man wants to show his love to someone he would carve a spoon for the person. If the woman agreed on the carvers intention she would hang it on the wall in the kitchen. If someone would hang a mistletoe branch over the door that is belived to keep them safe from storms. Or if they hung it over a babies cradle it would keep the baby safe that is in the cradle. The greeting is "Naldolig Llawen". There tree type is cultual. They hang a hobby horse   "hobbyhorse" which represents a old Celtic tradition.
