We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. Salmon Alevin

Before the Alevin go into the open they can survive off of their yolk sack for a month. Once they leave the. Gravel they become a fry. They need fresh clean water. The need trees for shade and gravel or another substance to hide so they won't get crushed. Their threats are gulls, dippers, and sculpins.
